I hunt in PA, close to the NY, NJ border. Here, you NEED orange. The woods is thick and the people from the city are stupid. In open western states I don't think it matters either way. I could maybe see asking for a hat.

I would do it myself and there's no way I would get a permit. I could care less what the code or law is. Just put the new one in exactly like the old one. If it's electric it's no big deal. Gas could be tricky.

There has to be a way to calibrate the thermostat or the temp probe. I would do some research online and adjust it to whatever temp I wanted. It will still read 104 but the actual temp could be hotter.
