Personally testing out the half outs I have had one break just shooting foam. Two more broke shooting stumps, and one broke when my arrow hit a tree when it zipped through an old blown out target. Each arrow had been shot roughly 100x in one summer, so relatively new arrows.
Not a fan of the...
A vote for 7mm-08! I’ve gotten great results with every bullet I’ve tried from 120 gr Ballistic tips, 140 gr ttsx’s to 150 gr ELDX’s. All have shot phenomenal groups with Varget

As a youth, using a 7-08 I killed several cow elk and mule deer bucks with both the 120 and 140 Barnes ttsx. Both work, 120 has my vote with 300 yard max little faster, little less recoil. Worked like a charm.

My grandpa’s Polaris took two dives off the trailer on the highway, once over a steep embankment and the other time drug behind the trailer until the handle bars burned red hot. Despite all this the darn thing runs like a champ, goes anywhere we point it, taking us out and back into some nasty...
I watched my 80 lbs younger sister knock one off its feet at 150 yards with a 95 grain partition last October. I wouldn’t hesitate using it.

I like Kuiu and wear a lot of their stuff, but I agree you can save some money while not compromising a ton or at all on quality. I am a big fan of having quality merino base layers. As far as matching camo, I like having solids to blend brands of camo without clashing, solids in dark green...
Great Grandpa’s pre-64 model 70 chambered in 270 is tough to beat, it has taken dozens of pigs, several elk and a tons of mule deer for four generations of my family.
We don’t carry it much any more, but this year my dad used it to kill two cougars on his property.

I have. The AWD system is capable in mud, gravel and snow, it’s not ideal but doable, ground clearance was an issue for me at times , but as a college student I did everything out of my 99’ forester and enjoyed every minute of it

Salmon oil is the ticket for us too. Whatever food anyone ends up choosing I can't stress enough how good a quality salmon oil is for the dogs. My wife loves it too because my lab's fur is much softer and healthier.
I personally will never take my wild game to a butcher, I enjoy the process and work it is to break down and process my deer and elk. Take your time, make sure every little piece even for burger is free of fascia, dirt, hair and blood shot. It takes a long time, about a full day for two people...
Likely a bedding area they are using. They will often have a few bedding areas they use depending on weather, and pressure from hunters and predators. I’m no expert but two bucks of the bucks I’ve killed in the past ten years I have found the night or day before and killed them in the same spot...
I haven’t shot a newer savage but my Savage 110 (?)that I got as a kid is a tack driver, shoots sub MOA.
That being said, Tikka would be my first pick hands down, but give the Savage’s a good look too.

Whichever is available and shoots better. All things being equal I prefer the Barnes, I’ve killed multiple deer and a couple cow elk with my 7mm-08 using the Barnes, and they have always performed as advertised for me.

Having only killed cows so far personally I am adamant that meat care is crucial. Both in the field care i.e getting it cool and dirt free, and processing, if you process the meat yourself take your time and pick through each piece and you won’t regret the extra time.
When I was 12 I killed my...
I would agree with many, if you have to ask, probably not for you. That being said, once you are comfortable within 25 yards it is deadly. I called in a bull for my dad at 15 yards, frontal shot and it ran 30 yards and tipped over I can't find pics of it now, we don't take many I always forget...
Using a bird wing is what helped my lab turn a corner retrieving when she was just a little puppy. And training in steps is crucial, so that each new thing you introduce will almost guarantee her success in that new skill. Train her while you play and play while you train.
