I spend a lot of windshield time each day, and started listening to podcasts and imitating the calls I heard, then I got the Elk Nut app and started using it while driving around. The bugling tube is used when I am out in the middle of nowhere, again mimicking what I hear on the App.

Update: I just ordered the Sigs from Midway. The price has dropped to 640. I have to try them at that price!! I ordered the 9s. Savings can go towards a spotter!
Long time Lurker, finally joined!! I should have done so a long time ago! I’m from Alberta, I primarily Bow Hunt, and have a great time hiking around this province. Have family in Montana and hoping to get down there this year for some elk rut! Glad I finally joined, and maybe I can contribute...
I really wanted to love my 3L plat. Bladder, but I can’t. I now carry 2 1.5L smart water bottles, usually only 1 full as I do have access to plenty of water where I hunt.
Fantastic work and write up! I cut a stave this past fall and have it drying still, I have been avoiding it for fear of failure! Going to make the leap after reading this thread!
Like yourself, last year I was researching like crazy. I ended up going with the Exo 4800. I have not regretted it. I haven’t had any issues with heavy loads shifting, I have had over 100lbs on that frame. It also compresses down into a great day pack. Whatever you choose, I’m sure you won’t...
Same boat... been debating the 50 vs 65 spotter and 8x to only a high end 12x(el). It’s hard to make up my mind with all the great reviews for both kinds of set ups!
Wolves have really hit the Elk hard where I’m from in Alberta. The majority of people think wolves are no different then their beloved golden doodle and should be treated as such.
