    Big Hunt Camp

In 2019 I watched some guys set up a village that a city would have given a certificate of occupancy to. Bunk wall tents Dining wall tent Tents for quads Tent for a cooking area Enough firewood for the winter And, of course, an outhouse tent. I think they were gonna be there a while. Not...

Agencies announce decision to restore grizzly bears to North Cascades. I guess this makes it official

Pretty sure this wasn't a ballot initiative, so not sure why that's being brought up...

Agencies announce decision to restore grizzly bears to North Cascades. I guess this makes it official

They say 12,000 comments were submitted but don't provide stats on the for/against. That's what I want to know. The way they phrase it would make it seem the majority were in favor of reintroduction. Map of the proposed reintroduction areas.

    Best hot tent

Yeah, if you're getting enough moisture to wet out the material it sags quite a bit. Pretty annoying. After a few seasons with the Cimarron I'm looking to switch to sil poly.

    Suppressor wait times

Not sure if anyone posted this yet, but thought this Exo podcast was good in somewhat explaining why the times have improved. https://exomtngear.com/blogs/podcast/453

    Best hot tent

Check out the Argali 4p tipi too. Sil poly instead of sil nylon, so no wet sag in the material.

Mix/Make your own Permethrin Spray - SAVE MONEY

Just finished dousing all my clothes for turkey season with this formula. 3rd year doing it and I've only found one tick on my skin since.

    Back issues field dressing.

I have 3 sections of an old closed cell sleeping pad for a sitting pad and use it to kneel on. Usually one knee at a time so I can switch it up. Also will stand up and reposition instead of working on something at an awkward angle and take water breaks if there's no reason to rush.

    Original Prana Zion is Back!

How do these fit for guys with thick thighs? For reference: FL Corrugate pants fit me, but other FL models don't. Same with Kuiu Tiburons. Only jeans I've found that fit are Levi 541 "athletic fit".

What size spotter for spring bear?

Should be fine, you're not counting rings on a sheep. This is 2 miles away with an STC on 40 power and phone on 2x, so only a bit more magnification.

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

Also interested in the online class. I assume I'll need to find a spot to shoot that has cell service?

    Peax Solitude Nest?

I don't ever guy it out, but I sleep on my side so it doesn't bother me like a back sleeper might.

    Best glassing chair

I've had the REI version of the Helinox for years, never found a comfortable glassing position. You just end up fighting the natural recline of the chair trying to sit up straight in it.

    Spotting scopes…

Never used the Novagrade, looks like you have to index it every time and looks clunky. Switched from the Magview to the Ollin and I think that's the best option on the market right now. I keep the case on all the time, no issues in my jeans pockets.

    Oregon draw results are up

No tag myself, but been out in Mt. Emily the last couple of weekends shed hunting and glassing a bit. New to the area but been exploring the last couple months and pretty familiar with current conditions. If anyone has a Mt. Emily tag and wants some help, send me a message. Would love to help.

    McCall, ID Family Trip

Headed to McCall Friday-Sunday April 19th-21st with my parents. Any recommendations on things to do? We know it's a transitional time of year, so maybe not the best for things the area is known for. They hike a bit (mid-60's, flatlanders) but won't be prepared for any hiking in the snow. Would...

    Will Vehicle Prices Ever Decrease?

I looked at one, it was a little tight for my liking. I mainly use the back seat area for gear storage, didn't want to have to squeeze to get things in and out. Definitely bigger than other double cab options, just not as big as the crew cab rear that I'm used to.
