Anyone have experience with the Seekins Custom Shop? Made a few attempts to get in touch with them this week to see what they offered. Mainly interested in getting some ideas on a custom PH2 or Element.
They are one of the better of the outfits in Bama. I still don’t think I’d pay to hunt an outfitter in Alabama and that’s where I live. If I had to choose one. I’d assemble a group and hunt the bow only property that Master Rack has. It’s the old Enon Plantation. That place was epic.
I have a lease in Butler and Wilcox Co. I keep pressure as close to zero as possible until after MLK week. Both leases have yet to have had any hunting pressure this season. Last year less than a total 10 hunts were made. Starting in July, each lease gets visited no more than once per month to...
It is considered the Black Belt and my property sets in the Southern Edge of it. The hunting is definitely better in the Black Belt ans Northern counties if the state.
I’m sure it goes for everywhere but our main drawback is lack of age structure and a three buck limit. Almost every run of the...
I have a lease just of South Montgomery. Been hunting the area for the last 18yrs. I grew up in TX and then family transferred here. Started traveling these last few years to scratch an itch that don’t stop.
I’m pretty good with cold weather. I’m good in the high teens and 20’s with just the stratus set.
I’m up for either DIY or outfitter. This past November I had my first outfitter experience and still have mixed feelings on the idea of doing it again.
I’m primarily looking for antlers and the...
Thanks for the advice. Currently hunting multiple states along with my home state of Alabama. My original plan was to wait it out for a bow opportunity but the enticement of hunting in those nasty conditions has started to make me swing my intentions.
Got a couple points already and had plans to keep building up for a chance at bowhunting the rut in one of the Southern zones 4-6.
Lately having a bit of chance of heart and thinking about using those points next year on late muzzleloader. What y’all think? Would it be worth to hit Iowa once...
Down here deer pretty much shit down with high dew point and humidity. Usually it will clear up about 8:30 or so and then they will get on their feet. Regardless down where I hunt those days are usually warmer than average with high humidity which results in below average movement. Good days to...
I have a couple of the Banks post mounted feeders. Took a piece of PVC and placed over the 4x4 prior to mounting to help keep the coons off.
I have some buddy’s that use the BB feeders but haven’t gotten any complaints from them really.
Really depends on the situation. I prefer to be in the 18-20ft range but have some places where 10ft is about all I can get. Taken a LOT of deer from the ground to so there’s no real constant.
North Missouri and Texas get my vote as places of personal experience. Going to Kansas next year and saving points for Iowa so I can’t say anything on those from personal experiences
