I found a Marbles Knife for sale, very similar to this one pictured. I think the model may be Woods & Water. If anyone is familiar with this model I'd sure appreciate some info. I like the design, and seems very close to a Randall Alaskan skinner in some respects.
Are the Marbles knives known...
Needing a camp axe for limbing trees, splitting wood for the stove, general camp duties and warding off the occasional marauding griz. I definitely prefer a wood handle. Any particular makes or models you recommend? And what size/length do you prefer for those applications?
Preseason scouting allowed us to locate what we thought would be a dynamite area for this fall's moose hunt. There was dynamite, but the fuse was much longer than we anticipated! I would be hunting with my adult sons and looking forward to spending time together on this hunt.
We hunted a river...
Sad story here but a hunter and pilot lost their lives this week the day before sheep opener. Condolences to the families and friends of those involved, and thank you to the crews that attempted a recovery.

I am wanting to build a smokehouse for hot/cold smoking of game meat and fish. I have an older small wood stove I could use, and I'm thinking of building a box or cabinet and running the stovepipe up into the bottom of it. What is the best material to use for the smoker box for both longevity...
I see those minibikes at Sportsman's and wonder how durable they are and how long they would last. Might be a fun ride for a younger kid to get out on some trails. Has anybody tried one?
I had a 10+ year old pair of Meindl boots start to separate at the sole last year and called up Meindl for recommendations on how to fix them. They said they use Boot Fix Glue. It is akin to super glue, but stays flexible after drying. I got some from Amazon and it seems to work pretty well. The...
I'm wondering how older preHD alpha glass might compare to the new $1k offerings by Zeiss, Maven, Kowa, etc.
Would less expensive binos built with new technology surpass the best optics of old? I didn't see where this specific question has been asked before and have wondered about this myself.
Last day of archery moose season and I was out hunting near town. I heard the usual atv traffic and such a half mile or more away, then heard the distinct sound of a drone in flight a ways off. Now, granted, it could have been a recreational user, but the last day of season......in this...
I've been happily using Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32's for the last 8+ years and absolutely love them.
I'm getting the itch for a little more magnification and considering adding a 10x unit. I want to stay at the same optical quality as the Zeiss, so seems like a no brainer to get the same bins in...

In case your fall hunt this year requires access through or on military land in the Interior, this is good info to know. Click on the appropriate area to see what areas will be open/closed and dates.
Good hunting!

I have lived most of my life in Alaska and spent many days in the woods but had never seen a wolf till last fall. I spotted this one while sheep hunting and shot him facing me at 75 yds, right between the eyes with a 270win. One of those was all he could handle. Best part.... No exit.
Called this 46 LB male in with the FoxPro. I spotted him about 50 yards out in the brush. He disappeared and circled around to my right and came after the mojo decoy. Shot him at 30 yards with the Marlin 22mag.
I have a Remington 700VS old school cool with the HS Precision stock, 26 inch heavy barrel in 308 Winchester. Scoped it is 10.6 lbs and is a tack driver. I'm wanting a more practical hunting rifle in 308. I can have some length taken off the barrel (4-6 inches) to lose weight and make it...
