I tried my backup Carter like Mike 2 for the first time this week to find out that about 3/4 of the way through the draw cycle it goes off, I hadn’t adjusted any settings. I hit myself in the face and busted my lip but the arrow went into the target so I got off fairly easy. I tried it on a...
I have had great luck with the 156 in 6.5 prc and two friends use my load hunting, all three guns from different manufacturers shoot clover leaf groups.
I wouldn’t get rid of the equipment I like the option if or when there’s another shortage, but I see the temptation if only shooting to 500yd. I started reloading about 4 years ago when I shot a good amount of PRS and couldn’t find my preferred ammo, while I don’t shoot PRS anymore I still...
I have had the RadRunner 2 since last season and two of my hunting partners have used the previous model for 2 seasons, I ordered mine after borrowing one of theirs, from my tree stand before the sun was up after it saved me a 2 mile walk and was quiet enough that a mature buck came in 20...
On average between 10 and 60 arrows one to three days a week. I find it's more productive for me to walk a 3d course than spend an hour or two shooting spots. I also focus on shooting from my knees or drawing behind cover and stepping out for a shot.
I’m using a Carter Like Mike 2 this season. I used a nock 2 it last year but prefer the index for spot and stalk. I go back and forth most years depending on whether or not I’m sitting in a treestand. My groups are consistent with both releases.
My feelings toward hunt clubs are based on my area central Florida. I’ve had leases in FL, GA and AL what I’ve found is the clubs are very much like high school everyone will try to slip in your spots and if you’re not local you lose the ability to control trespassers and poachers. I now only...
I’ve had good luck with a lot of qad rests and wanted to try the hamskea epilson this year for something different. I like it more on the range it’s quicker to load, once the season starts we shall see if I notice the containment difference, I do need to draw a little slower to keep the arrow...
most recently I went from a 34” inch ata back down to 29”. The 29” is noticeably easier to maneuver in climbers and blinds. I haven’t noticed much difference when shooting at distance.
The kifaru shape charge with a Sherman pocket is what I use for day hunting it Carrie’s everything well and I usually strap a chair in between the pack and shape charge if hunting from the ground.
