I looked on their website yesterday, and they have zero meeting materials posted so far.

Thanks for checking with them and asking them to clarify. Like I posted earlier, I fear the FSB will extend it too. The RACs, the OSM, and several of the agencies will support it. I guess we will see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed. So it would be errant to suggest the whole preserve is closed to non-residents for the upcoming Caribou season at this point. What are your thoughts on the regulatory action the FSB may take in April? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sure, but since it sounds like they are emailing him, (I assume he is a client or already in dialogue with them) he might get a quicker response. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can you get them to confirm they are referring to WSA21-01 when they say the Noatak National Preserve is closed? I know it is closed due toe WSA21-01 through the end of June, but that expires with the month of June (as of now). If they are telling you it will be closed beyond June right now...

They do have Proposals WP24-30 (proposed by the NWA RAC) and WP24-31 (Proposed by the NS RAC) already before them through the regulatory process for this cycle to act on in their April meeting. Both of these are proposals to close Unit 23 for Caribou harvest to non-federally qualified users...

I have also confirmed with GEO, and they too have the same understanding that WSA21-01a ends with the 23/24 regulatory year on June 30th,, 2024 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Before the closure of federal lands through SWA-21A, the Working group I believe recommended a limited cow harvest I think I recall. I believe the recommendation was to focus on bull harvest. I just wish they’d remember that Non-residents are only harvesting bulls and their harvest is under 400...

Anything new on this front? Admittedly I haven't looked into recently. I’m still booked with GEO at this point. As I recall, the closure for WSA21-01A was to go through the ‘22 and ‘23 seasons. However, I’m sure there is pressure to extend due to herd count. Anyone up to date on this?

    Kotzebue caribou hunt August?

The season for next year is already closed by the FSB and their action on WSA21-01. That said, the state is challenging this in the court system and their challenge is not going to be based on herd size. So a new herd count won’t effect the courts’ decisions and since WSA 21-01 has already...

With all due respect to you sir, I have a few thoughts on your comments. First, you said it yourself, “there are plenty of caribou up here…” Second, other herds and areas are discussed on Rokslide for sure. Porcupine herd areas, 40-mile, Nelchina, etc. However, I agree that broadcasting a...

From what I understand from GEO, they seldom take folks to 26, even in August. But, I’d love to hear others answer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What days are you scheduled sir? I am too and at this point, like a few others, I plan to see it through. I think if GEO will be very clear about opportunity and will work even harder to put their guys in positions to be successful.
