Ordered a Big Agnes Sidewinder 20deg bag before my October hunt in New Mexico. I ordered it the long version and realized once I got to set up camp that they had sent me the short version of the bag. I'm 6'2" so that was just a bit too short to be super comfortable.
They would only send me...
It is not the loose powder, but 4 of the Triple 7 pellets. That's what the guy I'm borrowing the rifle from shoots with the load he developed for it.
Randy Wakeman discusses shooting 200gr of the Triple 7 pellets. Shooting the 150gr of loose Blackhorn 209 would possibly be more ideal, but I'm...
Have heard real good things about this bullet and will quite likely be running with it in October. Borrowing this rifle, and the owner has had good luck with 200gr of Triple 7 pellets and these Barnes bullets out of a Remington UML

I am just now tinkering with Gaia since I got a free year of Premium with my Zoleo. I've had OnX for roughly a year. One thing I've noticed is the private land owner information on Gaia is updated a lot faster than OnX. We bought land in New Mexico last summer and Gaia shows our current lien...
I did an antelope hunt when I lived in Colorado about 20yrs ago. I pulled that off by just finding a rancher and asking him if I could shoot a doe on his place and he agreed. Not sure one could do that anymore.
We have a small piece of property in Otero County, NM that we may retire to...
The quality of public land hunts in Texas really is not worth the effort. Honestly it's getting to the point where I hang up my stuff and just remember hunting for how it used to be. I had done that here at home..... drawing a NM elk tag for this year kinda lit the spark again and I'm trying...
Sadly, it probably would mean crossing off antelope hunting.
By and large, I get it. I care less for me than I do the younger generations. Hopefully those who want to hunt are finding careers that pay well, because before long hunting is going to be a game for the wealthy. Already is in Texas.
