I absolutely love hunting but I have a near paid for house and a car with 12 payments left on it and that’s it.
There is absolutely no way I would go back in debt to hunt. There is absolutely no animal in the world worth what some people pay for them.
My family comes before any hobbies and I...
Yep. I can’t imagine what they were doing that caused them to have to close their store front here in Texas and go back to online only sales.
And they don’t seem to be very well at doing that either.

Ok I wasn’t off in my thinking as far as bullet performance.
As to magnums, do you think that is because most bullets, at least ones loaded in factory ammo, are typically much less frangible and some being monos?
For the hand loader using Bergers, ELDMs or other bullets of similar...
Form, let’s say someone is shooting a .223 with 77 grain TMK @ 2800fps and a .308 Win with a 175 grain TMK at 2700fps, it seems to me that the additional mass of the larger diameter and heavier bullet has more opportunity to more damage via more material to fragment, etc…
Do you not see this...
Interesting way to mount a barrel vise. Mine is mounted on my bench top. Do you feel you can get better leverage with it mounted on the side?

I have a 4-32 NX8. I have never shot it above 15-16x when hunting, only to zero at 100 yards using 1” dot targets.
I vote 4-16 ATACR.
I have a 5-25 ATACR that I am considering selling or swapping for a 4-20 ATACR for the reason listed above.

I have a potential opportunity to go on a hunt that requires the head stamp of your brass to match what the rifle is chambered in. I’ve been expanding necks on 7SAUM brass up to this point.
Not interested in other brands of brass.

I can only speak to my experience with the 75 grain swift scirocco in a 22-250AI at 3400 fps. And primarily on large’ish pigs (200# or so). They kill but blood trails are difficult and I’ve not had a single one drop with shoulder hits out to 300 yards or so.
I have no on game experience using...
After my experience with 2 bad Gen 1s, I won’t be an early adopter of the Gen 2. I’ll let them be out for a while before I make the jump on a nearly $500 bipod that while offering some nice features over my Atlas CAL, may not be worth 40% more in cost.

I use on of the Spuhr leveling wedge kits to square with the rifle.
Then I make sure the rifle is level and install my scope level. I’ve become a fan of the Spuhr mounts and rings with their bolt on level.
It would probably be easier to use a rail mounted level but I haven’t found one I can...
