    Marsupial or kuiu for b2’s

Out of the two, I would take the marsupial. Out of all of the bino harnesses, I like the Oregon Pack Works Binobro Pro. Forward opening, super compact, quiet, made in USA, room for windicator, call and gps (which for me is an old smart phone) and best of all, simple as dirt.

    Wall Tent Heater help wood/pellet/propane?

Finally getting a wall tent this year and have been researching heat sources. There's so many choices and conflicting information, hoping I could get some more helpful information and direction here. Needs to meet criteria: -The tent is 12x12 canvas -Mostly used at 10-11k -Ran when outside...

    Clothing - Anything Else Needed?

That should be a decent setup 👍 Definitely get rain pants and gaiters. If/when it snows it can get pretty deep, I've used my rain pants as a vapor barrier aka snow pants to stay dry. Also it might rain. Same reason for the gaiters, deep snow. I would add a base layer top, I have an aerowool and...

    Sitka Fanatic alternative

I have the Cottonwood top and bottom. Very similar to the fanatic, big differences are the top is a pull over, some people have trouble with nomad zippers and price. To me, it's somewhere between the wooltimate and fanatic. For the price, I'm super happy 👍👍

    Cold weather gear upgrade

The uncompahgre is a really nice puffy, wouldn't work well as a soft shell. Jetstream is really nice, would have to size up for sure to get a puffy underneath. Kuiu guide is a nice jacket, but the wind goes right through it, it's an around town jacket now. Haven't tried the axis. Catalyst is...

    Pad width

Sleeping pad sizes remind me of tent sizing, way too small. I have one normal sized pad that never gets used, only the wides, and I'm not even a wide person!

KUIU Pro 6000 Pack Help (Day Pack Mode?)

I don't have my 6000 anymore, just a 7000 and a 1850 I believe. You can cinch the big bag down to the size of the frame, but the lid flops around if you leave it on. The only thing I didn't like was getting anything in/out of the bag, I would have to un-cinch the bag. Otherwise I don't notice...

    Portable jump starter

Looks exactly like the one I have, but it has a different brand. I've had mine about 2 years, recharged it one time so far. Jumped my Buell twice, Jeep once, two trucks at a trail head and the battery was still above 70%! I leave it in the trunk year round and surprisingly the cold doesn't drain...

light weight threaded hunting rifle sub $1200

Not sure if there's a model that's threaded, but I just picked up a Savage lightweight storm 308 that I believe checks all your boxes. Think I paid around 700 after tax and it's 5 pounds 9 ounces and I'm really happy so far. It was between that, a Kimber Montana and a Tikka. Ruger makes a...

What’s the one tip you wish you were given

Don't pass on an animal opening day that you would be happy with on closing day. ALWAYS be ready to take a shot.

    Colorado weather during rifle

I've done 4 first rifle Colorado elk hunts and the weather has been different every time. Always between 9-11k elevation. Best weather was 20's-60, sleet/snow one day. Worst weather was about 18" of snow in one day, temps from -10-30. I gear up and plan for -15-70 degree weather and snow. First...

    Budget Raingear

Frog Toggs All Sport, 60$. I've never gotten wet and I haven't been able to destroy them yet. I had a First Lite set but sold it, 500$ sitting in the bottom of my bag 95% of the year.
