What’s Your Max Bow Range for Elk?

I agree, I would shoot at a target less than softball sized as long as I felt confident doing so. Maybe the question is how honest are people being with their effective range.

What’s Your Max Bow Range for Elk?

I think 50 with my compound and 25 with my recurve. I live out east, so it's typically less than 30 for a shot on a whitetail. Most shots usually being within 15. I only just started shooting past 40 within the last two years. I practice at 75 with my compound because that's as far as I can...

    O.H.P.

I don't know about you, but I enjoy the climb back up. Kind of starting fresh and ready to make all new progression after the season. Just for me it's whitetail out east

I know this might be going away from the original shoulder mobility / impingement issue, but another good starting program is Wendler's 5,3,1. Just like alot of these programs you can run it exactly as the program states or more like a template. I keep a rep record (1-10) of all my lifts to...

I would definitely do more of a warm up. The video Zap posted has some excellent information on it. Improve your mobility now and you'll get a better range of motion on your workouts. Better range of motion will lead to bigger improvements on your workouts

Starting strength is a great program. I'm not sure what your warm up routine is like, but I would start there. I use a rubber band and do like a 10 minute warm up on upper body days. With the band on a pullup bar I do pull downs, tricep extensions, rows, face pulls, then some mobility. Then...

If you can wait you should go to the Total Archery Challenge in MI this year. I know mystery ranch and kifaru both had booths in PA last year.

    Arrow Weight

If you're worried about penetration on an animal I think you're easiest solution is just a good broadhead. I like VPAs for my compound and Grizzly for my recurve. Haven't tried Iron Will, but I think some people like em.... Getting that arrow tuned correctly is going to get you farther than...

    Low poundage for elk

I think as long as your arrows are tuned properly and his broad heads are razor sharp, then he should be fine shooting whatever distance he is comfortable at.

    Archery Terms You Hate

A hidden benefit of shooting traditional, you never shoot far enough to actually lose an arrow. Downside is the heart break when you realize you might as well have lost it anyways

    Arrows

Ive been shooting Victory Carbon Trads with their stock shok insert, and they've been working pretty well. Done more than my fair share of "durability testing" with them, and the shafts are pretty tough. I have had a few inserts bend after very hard impacts
