    Gunwerks GRB Action

Thanks for this helpful comment. Since this post, I've made some decisions based on what I want this rifle to be and have narrowed things down to the Kelbly Atlas or the Zermatt/Bighorn Origin (I'll have to ask them what's the deal with their company name - I noticed the old Bighorn site and...

    Gunwerks GRB Action

@Cahunter805 I bumped into your post just now and appreciate the feedback you gave. I'm doing a .300 Win Mag build for a rifle build similar to yours and have been looking at the Bighorn Origin, Kelbly Atlas, Defiance Rebel or the Gunwerks GRB. I'm very tempted to get the Gunwerks action because...

    Bighorn Origin Suitability for 300WM

@FlyingScot I stumbled on this lonely thread of yours and I'm curious what you ended up doing? I'm doing a .300 Win Mag build myself as a traditional rifle build and can't decide between the Bighorn Origin, Kelbly Atlas, Defiance Rebel or the Gunwerks GRB. I'm very tempted to get the Gunwerks...

WTB Kimber Montana in .300 Win Mag and/or .280 AI

Thanks for the note Dalep! I'm definitely interested. I don't really need the break or the mounts but I'll PM you for more info.

    Colorado Goat

Nice mount! Looks like I'll be giving him a call tomorrow myself! Just got back last last night after harvesting my own mountain goat yesterday morning at 9 am. Had a great week of hunting despite the heat and saw goats every day. "Houdini" the big billy I was watching before the season opened...

    Colorado Goat

Nice goat and great story! Beautiful basin to camp in and I love glassing from the tent! I drew my mountain goat tag this year in Colorado and have been pretty pumped. I'll be hunting G17 and doing it solo as well so I enjoyed reading your post as I get ready. It's a management unit so there...

    Bergara vs Remington 700

@Capt.kramer how do you like your Tikka build so far? I've been wrestling with a semi-custom build myself. I am looking at building out another .280 AI and possibly a .300 Win Mag so both long action platforms. I'm not very experienced with all the actions out there but have resigned myself to...

PM me @joshf303 and we'll get squared away.

Sold Selling Entire KUIU Verde System

I'm selling my entire KUIU clothing and gear kit in the original Verde pattern and would love to push it all out the door in one sale but have started selling individual pieces for 40% off MSRP plus shipping. I'll keep updating this list as items sell. If it's still listed, assume that an item...

WTB Kimber Montana in .300 Win Mag and/or .280 AI

Howdy folks, I'm looking to buy a Kimber Montana in .300 Win Mag or .280 AI. Possibly both. I prefer the older gray stocks but would buy one with a green stock too. Thanks in advance!

Want to jump into a 300 win mag?

Late to the thread here but stumbled into and if you're still on the hunt, I can say that I love a Kimber Montana, the Nosler M48 and I'm impressed with the Howas but only if you get the HS Precision stock Howa. I really like the Bergara rifles too - particularly the Premier series which has...

    Kifaru Synthetic Game Bags

These are interesting and I'm a big fan of Kifaru in general so I'm intrigued but there's already a lot of good ones out there so maybe durability is the niche they're going after? I currently use bags in different sizes from Kuiu, Argali, and Caribou Gear. I would say they're all pretty similar...

light weight threaded hunting rifle sub $1200

Depending on what you consider lightweight, I'm also a fan of Kimber rifles. You should be able to find a used (maybe even new) short action caliber on any of the usual sites for around $1,200. I'm on the hunt for a .300 Win Mag myself and have seen several Kimbers come up recently. A brand new...

    Vortex vs Leupold Hunting Scope

I realize this thread is a bit old but I'm about to purchase a new Leupold VX-5HD and I'm curious to know how many folks use or like the fire dot option? Sounds nice but as a western hunter that often doesn't have a lot of time to set up and prepare the shot, I'm not sure adding another step and...

    Favorite Caliber (s)

I'm a big fan of the .280 AI and almost exclusively use it on every single hunt now. Throwing Hornady GMXs, I have found it to be bad medicine on everything from pronghorn to bighorn sheep to elk. I'm curious about the cartridges Nosler has been building. The 28 Nosler looks pretty sexy on paper.

    Backcountry Knife Situation

I'm a fan of the worksharp sharpners. They have a newer lightweight one that works well in a backcountry kit if you don't want to carry the bulkier field sharpener. It is very good however so if your knife blade tends to dull quickly, it might be worth the extra couple ounces. And if you butcher...

    Goat bullets.

Blacktail Sniper, I'm new to the forum trying to rack up my first 10 posts but I'll say that my .280 AI LOVE Hornady GMXs. I throw handholds in 139 gr or 150 gr with great success. I drew a mountain goat tag in Colorado this year and I'm having the same debate with myself about what to use. the...

    Mountain Goat Anchoring

There's nothing really I can add to this thread but as a newbie trying to rack up my first 10 posts to be fully integrated, I'll share that I drew a mountain goat tag in Colorado this year. All my goat hunting buddies and guide friends from AK throw bone busting bullets at goats with the...

I won a 300 WinMag. Should I keep, sell, rebarrel?

If you still have your .300 win mag, I'd possibly be interested depending on make and model. Happy to go through a legal sales venue for you or work something through an FFL.

    Goat bullets.

New user here trying to hit my 10 posts before I can really do anything on the site. Strange requirement but I presume there's a reason for it. I drew a mountain goat tag in Colorado this year and I appreciate this thread as I'm weighing caliber and bullet choices.
