Scores are very cool and we can all appreciate the accomplishment of harvesting a mature animal in his prime but at the end of the day a memory is all they are. It’s important and special to reminisce and look back on all of them.
I used PL Premium to glue the horns onto my sheep euro mount. Possibly a bit overkill but I don’t ever plan on removing them. If you are mounting the skull on a base where they won’t be handled I’m sure any wood glue would work. Even a bit of spray foam would work. If you use an expanding...
That was one of the most enjoyable stories I have read in a while. Great job documenting all your hunts with photos and remembering the details of each day. Thank you for taking the time to share that with us. Congrats on all the exceptional animals you have taken. Great memories.
I’m assuming it’s the ram in your avatar. By zooming in on that tiny photo it actually shows the dark annuli fairly clearly. I agree with his official aging of 8ish years old. Pretty beat up horns tho for a ram that age. Very cool trophy. Congrats!
My first stone sheep took a bit of a beating. It was a 200 yard shot from above him as he was bedded in a cliff band. At the report of the shot I caught a glimpse of him falling out of sight. I wasn’t completely aware of what was directly under him as I didn’t have that view. When I got down to...
Hi Msowa
If you don’t mind me asking which Canadian shop did you purchase the tent from? I was unaware there was a Canadian Hilleberg retailer. That is awesome if there is.
If you are sharing a tent with your hunting partner the Anjan 3 GT is unreal in my opinion. I use the Anjan 2 as my solo tent. I believe tunnel tents have the best cubic foot to weight ratio. Everyone has their own personal preferences based on their experiences. I love the tunnel tents and have...
That was an extremely enjoyable read! Thank you for taking the time to post your adventure and great photos. I hope you have many years left of pursuing those adventures.
Congratulations on the hunt!
I would definitely suggest purchasing a good puffy jacket.
Attack pants should be fine with a good removable base layer. I would also consider a pair of puffy pants for glassing.
Your sleeping bag (even with a liner) may not be sufficient for the possible cold temps...
KHntr made great points. Plain and simple. This subject is fun to talk about which is why there is so much engagement on the subject because we are all obsessed about sheep hunting!
In my opinion there is no such thing as the “perfect kit.” Even when you think you have your kit dialed, it will...
Sounds like the only problems you may face are afterwards when you’ve been bitten hard by the sheep bug. You think it’s bad now…
Absolutely go for it. Make it happen sooner than later if you can. Good luck!
