What options do I have for a long action X-Bolt for ring bases that don't block or hang over the ejection port at all?
Obviously a picatinny rail does.
I think the Leupold one piece Backcountry hang over a bit.
I know for a fact the Leupold DD mounts do not.
What else?
165gr has a BC of .409
180gr has a BC of .361 because of the protected point
Has anyone used both of these and notice any real difference in hunting situations?
I know BC doesn't matter much for hunting purposes, so I'd like to use the 180gr because of less bloodshot meat.
The other problem...
IMO, nothing beats the old tried and true BTSP bullets for taking down MOST game.
My dream bullet is a Nosler Partition with a boat tail. But that ain't ever gonna happen. I love this bullet but wish I could get them to shoot tighter groups out of my rifles.
I've had tremendous success with...
For those nicer dry days in the woods. Price not a factor. I want something nice and QUALITY.
I have 2 "plastic", if you will, rifles. I miss my old wood stock 7600 I sold years ago. Nothing like the look of a wood stock rifle.
Currently have a Tikka T3X Lite 270win and a Benelli Lupo 300wm...
Does anyone wear them while in the woods? Do they help hear moving critters better?
Asking because I put a brake on my 300wm this season and can't imagine what it would do to my hearing if I wasn't wearing some sort of protection after pulling the trigger.
