    Deboned shank generally hits the slow cooker for stew. If getting ground I do a medium grind first then a fine. That seems to get rid of the chewy bits without excessively clogging the grinder.

    If you have cats investigating but not committing try elevating the boxes a bit- like a foot off the ground. Found that helps with fussy lynx sometimes. Also, if snares are allowed, put a couple around the back and sides of the boxes.

    Step one: take the time to fit the pack properly to your body! Any of the "name brand" packs should carry a decent load. I've done 130# in my SG and 160# in a tasmanian tiger I had before the SG . There is no magic pack that will make heavy weight feel like a day pack!

    take down 10-22, fits nicely in my sled box. Early in the season (up til around Christmas) its also a 45-70 or a .375 H&H . Land sharks can still be active... For reference, my hand is 10" across.
