    Wyoming Elk Unit 38 - Crater Ridge Fire

    Just got back from 38, had a type 4 cow tag. Since they shrunk the closure area in September there is still lots of ground to hunt. Maybe because it was only cow season but not much for hunters around. Lots of elk though.

    Potential government shut down. Narional forrest

    Question, with the potential government shut down. If it happens will the national forrests stay open or do they get closed down? Have a hunt coming up and it would suck to loose the experience due to a shut down of the forest .

    Wyoming 38

    Has anyone been up to until 38? Have not been up there since end of June. Wondering how things look with crater ridge fire going on. Still elk in the area with fire fighting in progress? We drew type 4 tags. Hopong to get the old man a cow as doesn't have many elk hunts left... Thanks

    Wyoming Unit 38 type 9

    We drew 38-4 cows tags. Never hunted the bighorn. Fairly seasoned elk hunter, have hunted montana, Idaho, Colorado. Have gotten lucky and killed several elk. I will be going to Colorado later in the fall. Sent in for cow tags so my dad could tag along. Hopging to get him on a cow. Good chance...
