With 18x UHD binos, I would look to upgrade your chest glass first since that is the optic that you will use the vast majority of the time. Optics set ups are very personal decisions. If money is no object then I would pose two threshold questions to guide you. First, do you enjoy looking...
I agree with a lot of what has been said. I will say one thing about the ATX/STX 65mm if you intend to backpack. They are heavy for a 65mm. It is almost the same exact weight as the ATS 80 HD and the 80 will bring in more light. The primary attractiveness for me is the ability to add a BTX...
I have a mesa and I have no problems with the action. It cycles just like a standard 2 lug Rem 700 Action to me. In regards to how smooth it closes, this is something I have never even taken note of. I was always taught to cycle a bolt rather forcefully.
Because if that trespass is cognizable under state law, allowing public access could give rise to fifth amendment taking and landowners would be entitled to just compensation. The value of that interest in real property may not be worth all that much but it is still a taking none-the-less...
Generalizations cannot be made on this point because it is a matter of state law and they will vary. As a general matter a land owner owns at least as much of the space above the ground as they can occupy or use in connection with the land. True corner hopping will place your body in the...
If you are looking for a one pack solution my only advice is that you can make a big pack small, but you can't make a small pack big. I've run a Kifaru Argali for years now and I love it. For eastern guys, the Kifaru Stryker XL seems about perfect.
I've always had good luck with First Lite products and their customer service. They replaced a klamath for me after the zipper failed well over a year after purchased. I will continue to buy from them in the future.
There is no right or wrong answer. It all depends on what will make you happy, and what presents lucrative opportunities in the area you want to live. Be realistic, talk with people in careers that you are thinking about and find out what opportunities are out there, what the work/life balance...
I haven't spent any time looking through the BTX , although I hope to purchase one soon, but I am always puzzled as to why the 95mm is thought to have substantially better low light performance than the 65mm. So much so that people dismiss the 65mm BTX altogether as not being worth it. Because...
You never said what your current optics set up is and what terrain you typically hunt. I suggest putting your money into the optic that you will use the most, which is your chest glass. If you are happy with your chest glass then a spotter or bigger binos are a next logical step. Spotters are...
I second the inReach. My wife can tell exactly where I am and communicate with me when she needs to. It gives us both peace of mind. I can't imagine hunting without one now. Another thing that goes a long way is having good woodsmanship, navigation, and first aid skills. She knows I am not...
I'd recommend either the Vortex UHD 18x56 or the Maven B5 18x56. I have never liked looking through spotters myself and 18x binos have served me well. Using binocular vision makes up for lack of magnification compared to a spotter.
