    Lowa resoling services

They were waterproof up to a point. Regarding waterproofnessI think of it in 2 categories. Can I stream cross and stay dry and can it stay dry in dewy, wet grass. 2nd category is will it stay dry in a all day rain storm. When I sent the boots off they were good in the first category, and okay...

    Lowa resoling services

Hey Folks, Thought on giving an update on my Lowa Ranger resole: Well, when they say it will take 4 months they were not kidding. I got them a few weeks back. Had the outsole and the midsole replaced. They replaced the rand on both boots. Great job. No goobs of glue anywhere and very clean...

    Joint/tendon pain-----creams/rubs/oils?

I have arthritis in both of my feet. One is due to surgery on one foot in 2016, and the other for overuse in the big toe area. Here is what I have used and what has not worked: 1) CBD oil, expensive, supposedly good stuff, not gas station brads 2) Arnica gel 3) Biofreeze, distracts the pain with...

Women hunting boots for Alaska dall sheep hunt?

Best thing about REI is you can really know if it works by using it for a year outside and if it doesn't work you can take it back. Saves a lot of aggrevation. Unfortunately, over the years thier boot selection has gotten lighter and lighter.

    Lowa resoling services

Thanks to you all for your help. I sent the boots in to Lowa.. so we will see how that goes. Will post when they get back. I considered Dave Page, as I have heard of him, and he is pretty well known. Thank you for recommending him. I have other boots that I have in the stable so to speak to...

    Lowa resoling services

I went to put on my Rangers and there was a chunk missing in midsole in the heel. That was certainly new. Called Lowa and was told to send them to Connecticut and from there it goes to Germany. Will be missing the boots probably until Christmas. 4 months. That hurts!! Has anyone used this...

    Lowa Ranger GTX

I have a pair. I think the same year as well. Well worth the money you are paying for used. If they fit, and meet the use it is intended for, you are getting a good deal.

    stiff hunting boots/injury

Well my gait has been off probably since my left ankle was fused in 2016. Lower body work out is squats, deadlifts, step ups, and variations of the above. Stretch everyday. Foam roll when needed. I appreciate your reply and help.

    stiff hunting boots/injury

Hello Folks, Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to thank all of you who contributed to this thread. It confirmed many things that I was aware of and I needed more opinions to confirm. I will give it more time, try some new things, and at that point fish, or cut bait. Bought them to solve...

    stiff hunting boots/injury

Thank you for your reply. These are the things that I have been thinking about the most. Everything else has a mid foot flex. These do not. However These have a rocker sole which I thought would mitigate the loss of flex and make it easier on the feet. On level ground they are almost self...

    stiff hunting boots/injury

I have had these since June, and have had no problems with them. I have used these for moderate elevation gains and still no problem. The last few weeks however they have been bothering me and I was on flat terrain. I understand the higher shaft height, but could it be that paired with the...

    stiff hunting boots/injury

So what is the difference between the Lowa hunter and the Kenetrek? If you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by killing your feet?

    stiff hunting boots/injury

I can understand blisters and hot spots, but what is it about a stiffer boot that would cause Planter fasciitis or Achilles tendonitis?

    stiff hunting boots/injury

**Long Post Warning** I have screwed up feet. I had a subtalar fusion on my left foot and a screwed-up big toe on my right foot. I bought a pair of Kenetrek everstep boots. I have slowly started to break them in over flat surfaces for many months and I have small hills in my backyard as well...

    Leather lined boots list

I always wondered about Alico Boots. STP used to carry them on a regular basis. Love the idea of leather lined and not gor-tex.

    Looking for wide toed boot

Hi Folks, Thank you all for your recommendations! I have both the Lowa Ranger and Renegade in "Wides" The Renegade I think needs a wider last. I have been told that many companies used to size up in length for wide instead of building a wider last. I have worn Keens before, the problem is my...

    Sturdy boots without Gore-tex

Thank you all for your replies. I certainly do appreciate it. Those schnees leather-lined boots look really nice. Just wondering if the wide is wide enough (lol). Do you know when Schnees have their sales typically in the calendar year? I live in the Southeast and during the summer it is...

    Looking for wide toed boot

Hi Folks, Thanks for your replies! Thank you for reminding me about skipping a lace at the toe box. I currently have this and another pair of boots (lowa rangers) where I have it looped from the first to the second lace eyelet with a loose surgeon's knot. I will try this again. I have tried a...

    Sturdy boots without Gore-tex

Are Garmont wide boots on the narrow side, if that makes any sense? I have the wide Kennetrek everstep in wides and they are great for my feet. Looking for a similar boot as the Garmont. Has anyone tried the Belleville hot weather boots?
