    A solid 243 with good shot placement will drop any deer or elk out to 300 yards reliably. I think people underestimate the damage a 100 grain soft point can do. Pretty sure a lot of people even take moose with a 243 at closer distances. You might also consider a 257 weatherby or 25-06...

    Versatile hunting dog?

    Pretty tough to beat a GWP. You can teach them just about anything. It is all in the training. They are also great family dogs. Be prepared though they have energy and you have to exercise them.

    Southern part of the state has been dry. For simplification id call anything south of brookings the cutoff line for moisture. I am originally from the Aberdeen area, and outside of the last rain event I don't think it has been none to wet. There are swaths that have had moisture though.

    WTB Spotting scope $2K budget

    Just a personal opinion...buy just about any older generation alpha glass...good kowa or swaro will retain their value quite well over anything else. They worked great when they were new and they still work great today.

    WTB Browning Xbolt Predator 22-250

    Just wanted to throw another option out there if you are predator hunting. Sako A7 coyote can probably be had for similar money and will be far superior to the browning. 24" barrel. Food for thought. It is light and easily one of my favorite rifles. It is a tac driver.

    I have a pair just like this with swarobright i think 2005 model. Compared them to my dads newer nikon monarch 5 ($800) at the time 2016?..and the swaros still were brighter and clearer. You just can't go wrong with this glass...really IMO at almost any price point.

    What kitchen items for a Wedding Registry?

    Large quality cutting board, quality chefs knife, couple quality pans and a good stock pot. A heavy porcelain / cast dutch oven...if your wife bakes cant say good enough about a kitchenaid. It works wonders for just about anything and is easy cleanup.
