    Boots for real big foot?

Check out LOWA boots from Germany and look at their website. I originally grew up in Germany and have worn LOWA boots for decades especially the Tibet as a Hunter and Forester. Here is the US website; shoes are shipped from the US. If you want a larger selection you can also go directly to the...

    Hanwag or Zamberlan

The Zamberlan 980 have an excellent fit for a narrow foot especially narrow heel which I have and fit like a glove. Lowas are in the same category which I can also recommend for mountain hunting.

    Hanwag boots quality?

Hanwag boots are excellent quality but it all depends on the fit. Make sure that you try them on before buying. I have a narrow foot and especially a narrow heel and Hanwags do not work for me. I wear Lowas and Crispi boots; the Lowa Tibet has an extremely stiff sole compared to the Crispi Guide...

    Boots

I always get cold feet when the temperatures drop. I had LOWA GTX boots for decades but they do not hold up in cold weather, and I am originally from Europe. I grew up boar hunting in freezing weather! Get an insulated boot with at least 800 gram of insulation and make sure who have at least two...

California Mule Door Lower Sierra Nevada's

Hunting CA mule deer is extremely tough especially if you did not get drawn for an premium zone (X-zone). It also depends at which season you hunt; if it is hot the deer are at high elevations and the ongoing years of drought had a huge impact on our deer population. Increasing mountain lion &...

Are Crispi Wild Rock Boots waterproof? I have read in numerous places that Crispi boot are water repellent not waterproof. Does anybody's leak?

Depends on fit, both brands are excellent but if you have a narrow foot like me you are out of luck with Meindls; they have a very wide heel. Crispi boots are one of the best boots I have ever worn, they fit like a glove and super comfortable. I have worn Lowa for many decades and tried Meindl...

Questions on Kuiu Axis Hybrid Jacket?

The Axis is a great jacket for fall application with a layer underneath it, and a great windbreaker but not for these cold temps. You need a down jacket for better insulation. Check the Kuiu website they have a lot of winter clothing options for your temperature needs. Layers are the keys if you...

    California Bear Ammo

For hunting bears I always use the heaviest bullet I can find for immediate stopping power. If you do not shoot long distances the heavier bullets will suit you well. For up to 300 yards I would go with the 180grs e.g. 30-06. I you have a heavier caliber increase in weight. Shot placement is...

First time Mule Deer Hunting in Utah

Hello fellow mule deer hunters- I am new to Utah mule deer hunting and have accumulated 6 points for General Season deer and 5 points for Limited Entry deer. Over many years I have hunted California and Nevada but never Utah. I was wondering what would be a good zone to apply this year since I...
