I have never owned a suitcase or one of those rolling things. I travel year round, driving and/or flying. I went to Australia for a month and a half… with a big ass duffel bag. I bring a smaller duffel bag with backpack straps for a carry on too.

Here is another thought for cold weather… later MT elk/deer season, horn hunting all winter, snowshoeing, etc. I was wanting to try their hybrid boot, the Phantom Tech, for a long, long time. My oldest got into ice climbing this year...
I’ve worn mine when it’s been below zero and I was glad I had them. So when it’s warm, high pressure days in MT in late-September to early-October, they’ve never bothered me as far as being “too much”. But if you’re in S ID in the 80s and you’re in the sage… that might be a little different...

Got a couple miles in throughout the day walking to glassing spots. My youngest and I took the UTV up to several different areas. No bears, plenty of deer, a few turkeys and we hit 80 degrees in town. Very, very nice spring day to be out in the woods.
Did my 700vert hike with 30lbs this morning. I may do most of that hike again after breakfast with a weed sprayer and hit some of the early blue weed that is popping up. All the arrowleaf balsam root is coming up as well.
I’m sure you don’t waste time (or carry the unnecessary weight) of runnin latex gloves already. But there are probably some on here that don’t know that all you need is 1 sheet. Works for administering suppositories too…
My oldest got reeeal up close and personal with a good sized boar weekend before last. Walked right up on the den.
Sometimes forgetting your snowshoes is better than having them. I carried mine around numerous days this year and never even got close to putting them on!
