So I'm trying to decide if I should get one of these Forclaz or an Outdoor Research Coldfront down hoodie (700 fill down)? I want something for glassing. I already have a Patagonia Nano Puff jacket but I don't think it will be warm enough for sitting. Any thoughts?
I do a lot of quail hunting in Iowa and I would agree with Holocene, I would add to pick out one when the covey gets up...newer quail hunters can get lost in the group getting up and shoot at the whole bunch. Lastly, a good hunting dog is really helpful in finding down birds.
I've been looking for a new vest too...my current browning lightweight vest always rides up when I have a couple birds in it. I'll have to look at final rise.
