This is great advice. I never leave home without a backup. Even on a dove hunt 10 miles from home. It costs nothing to haul on extra if you're driving, so do it. If you have a failure without a backup, you'll be miserable.
Spray-in. Line-X has been great for me. Like others said, add a fitted rubber matt, or a horse stall matt to minimize sliding.
While you're at it, go ahead and get yourself an extendable "boat hook". They keep you from crawling up in the truck bed so much. You can thank me later. Like this...
Paid $4.79 for diesel in Ft Payne, AL (home) last night. Went from here to Nashville Saturday/Sunday, prices ranged up to as high as $5.25, but mostly around $4.80 for diesel.
