I've had 2 front shoulders in the crock pot for 9 hrs.
After marinating for 3 days.
It hasnt given up yet. Decent sized Boar my son shot.
Planning on making Fajitas.
Will it ever get tender?
I just put them in the pressure cooker!!!! That'll fix em.
Just got home from a successful Aoudad hunt. Brought the fully frozen cape back
in an ice chest full of ice. It was in a couple garbage bags and everything remained
mostly frozen. There was some slush in the bottom of the cooler and the bag with the cape had
some slush/blood in it. I drained it...
With the draws coming up, is anybody re-thinking their apps along the MX border
due to the relaxed border restrictions?
I usually apply in southern NM but I'm am having my doubts this year.
I love the desert but Not really feeling it, camping solo in a border unit this year.
Would someone please explain the process of turning the ears on a cape for the taxidermist. I've caped many a head but never "turned the ears" on one.
I've always jus cut the ears off at the base and threw the head in the freezer/cooler.
I posted this in the Whitey thread, thought I'd get more responses here.
I have a Dec. 7-15 Coues tag in 27 and was just wondering what kind
of weather to expect around this time? Also, what about around the
first of the year in SW NM for Javi tags? trying to figure out sleep systems.
I've mentioned on here before that I have a Dec. 7-15th Coues rifle hunt coming up in unit 27 NM. Can anybody give me an idea of weather during that time. I've hunted the White Sands in Jan., and was just wondering if I could expect about the same?
Just trying to figure out my sleep system.
Thanks.
I have a Coues hunt coming up in Dec. in unit 27
and later my son and I have Javelina tags.
Anybody recommend a good taxidermist in Southern NM?
Trying to stay out o trouble transporting Coues skulls.
I put in for an Archery tag so I could hunt with my son on
his youth Jav. tag and we both drew!! Love it when a plan comes together.
Will prolly drive out and carry the big tent and camp in comfort.
Wife said she might even go. Jan 1-15th I believe.
Any insight on this hunt would be appreciated.
Just got a pair of Vortex 15x56's for upcoming hunts and would like
to be able to mount them on a Bogpod tripod.
Is the Bogpod camera pan head suitable for this or do I need to pair it with
their bino adapters.???? And will it work with Vortex?
Any advice appreciated.
Anybody have experience with these? How does the width run? I'm borderline
mid/wide. They don't come in a wide but dang they a good looking boot.
Also, Durability, comfort, waterproof? etc......
thanks
Sending back my 3rd pair of Hikers tomorrow. They are Salomons X3's or something like that in a "Wide".
They are more like an xtra narrow if you ask me, can barely get my foot in them. The others I sent back
were a reg. width Salomon 4d, could not get my foot into the shoe. My foot is actually...
Planning a trip for the first 2 weeks of June with my 15 y/o son and wife.
Hope to use one of those weeks for a Bear hunt south of Bozeman.
Not asking for spots, just anything on terrain, access, weather or general
advice. Looks like there's plenty of Forestry Service land south of
Bozeman...
