Thanks for sharing your build. Came across this as I'm interested in doing similar for a smallrig tripod for shooting / glassing. I'm sure your leofoto is way better quality/robust. Glad to see you like the smallrig panhead, you might have sold me on that. Also like to see your feedback on...
A family vacation is a really nice event in a place conveniently located where I may have a big game tag. During this time I also like to negotiate a scenario where i disappear for a responsible 24hrs to observe wildlife.....
I'm weird and pack down puffy pants to supplement a 25° sleeping bag. I like the form factor and weight of a super lightweight/warmer weather bag, even when I really should just have a 10° bag. In a recent hunt in full snow I liked to leave the puffy pants on in the AM for more sedentary...
Love the sigma. I like that it isn't as bulky / clunky as some of its competitors. Haven't had the stiffening issue with it as described above. You get used to manually clicking in to nock . The first few shooting sessions you're skeptical but at some point the muscle memory takes over
Mighty mouse covered some critical Intel. I would offer up the OMP vise. It's sturdy and allows you to quickly & easily hold bow in position needed for you ergonomically .
Not sensing that you would do this, but don't cheap out on the bow press. Gotta go beefy so it's safe and secure to work...
I feel like enlightened equipment isnt mentioned often but cool option. Cottage industry, made USA (pretty sure still is) , mostly quilts but they do have zipper ones . Might be worth a peek but not a bonafide budget option
For you and the other full draw users, did you find yourself taking advantage of the technology and shaving yards off shots when applicable? I've seen archers keep written history of how many yards to shave based on angle / distance but using a range finder to do that seems pretty intriguing.
So... Are you getting him shoulder mount? The big question is .... Do you have your taxidermist put that left eye on, or keep it off to remind you of his true character?
Respond carefully....
I'm considering grabbing AZ Ez fletch but love the idea of a more robust jig like the blitz. Any value to starting small and doing the EZ fletch to get started? I'm at the point where I'm moving from buying prefletched high-end arrows to doing my own fletching so I can customize a little more
I also agree. There is a healthy level of masochism to enrich success. But I like to compartmentalize and enjoy the good ol whitetail rifle sit regardless
That's a good call. I'm seeing this on the VXR, it arrived today by the way. It's the ambush green color, so not as obvious as nicks and dings would be on black. My halon was Optifade and hid that kind of wear really well.
Still waiting on the remainder of the components to arrive from all the...
