    I will agree with the comment above. 1. Benelli SBE2 or SBE3 (expensive at $1600-1800, but worth it.) 2. Winchester SX4 (if price is an issue at $1k) You will not regret the upgrade over the two guns you mentioned.

    My pointer is finally figuring it out.

    The balance of letting the dog work with other hunters in your group and having him work for you can be challenging. The more you get them on those wild birds the quicker they make those adjustments from pen raised. Fun times.

    Best 12 gauge ammo for Pheasant?

    Prairie storm #6 and #5 or Federal upland premium. My experience with Federal using the praire storm and upland premium has resulted in less birds running when they hit the ground.
