    Ennis is about an hour away and is full of fly shops and guides for the Madison. I would recommend booking with Madison River Fishing Company. If you must go out of Bozeman, I don't have any actual recommendations.

    Jg48, I would be really curious to hear the final outcome here. I also have a long DL of 33" and I have had a terrible time with arrow spine if I put anything extra up front beyond a 125 grain BH and regular insert. Are you putting any weight on the back of the arrow?

    I would not think so as you have your truck bucking the wind first, but I have no real world experience. My 16 footer has a slight V which I like as it gives a bit more storage space and the box is actually 16. A lot of Vs are total length so a 14 V might only have a 12.5 box.

    My Alaknak is about 15 years old. The old ones are all the same color. No different color on the window covers. That is the only difference I can see from the photos online.

    If you are planning to go to Bozeman, make the loop and drive by Quake Lake and Hebgen Lake. Stopping at the Quake lake visitor center is worth the time.

    I am 6'4" and have a Big Agnes 3 wire that I fit in fine. If you want to go floorless it is hard to beat the Mt Smith Mountain LT for size, cost and wt.
