Anything above 10x is generally too much power to hand hold. I've gotten away with sitting and stabilizing them, but only for a quick peek at something. I don't own the forehead rest mainly because I always use them on a tripod.
PERFECT condition Swarovski BTX eyepiece. If you didn't know better, you would think this is new; only used 1x scouting. Box contains all relevant paperwork, including UNSIGNED Swaro warranty card and sticker. Box is immaculate. In Tucson, AZ and looking to sell in person for cash ($2400). If...
J930, Are you still in the market for a BTX/STX/ATX 95mm Swaro objective lens? I'm down in Tucson looking to move mine. Was hoping to sell it as a package with my BTX eye piece, but could sell separately if the deal makes sense. Mine is PERFECT! Only used 1x for scouting. New box with all...
It all comes down to money in preference (like so much in life). The first thing I was going to say was, "Buy a solid tripod that you can pack." Then I finished reading your post. LOL! The folks posting 15x56 SLC Swaro here know what they're talking about. However, those are some big binos. You...
If you manage to hunt, you definitely need to be cautious when camping anywhere near the Mexican border. I work in the LEO field and have had plenty of honest conversations with Border Patrol, HSI, DEA and the like. The majority of the folks you could run into are desperate, hungry/thirsty and...
Just outside of Tucson I've seen both Mule deer and Coues in the same area; actually glassed both up in the same view. As the terrain becomes steep (think difficult stalk) you'll begin to see them. I've also seen them in heavy cover on flat ground - at 3000+ - much like you'd see them our East...
NOT going to convince you NOT to buy Swarovski. I've owned some high-end glass over the years and my 12x42 NLs are the BEST optics I've ever owned, full stop. I bow hunt in AZ for mule deer and coues down south. Game changing glass IMO. -Luke
I own both. The Zeiss 8x32 FL (stalking glass on my chest) and 12x42 NLs on a tripod. I bow hunt in AZ and glass A LOT. I love my Zeiss, but the NLs are simply amazing and have INCREDIBLE depth of field. It almost seems like you rarely need to focus. You can't go wrong either way, but I'd never...
If you were glassing over some serious distance out west (think AZ for mule/coues deer) I'd absolutely recommend Swaro NLs. I have the 12x42s and find EVERYTHING when I put them on a tripod and hike to some high ground. They are amazing. The BEST glass I've ever owned. Out east in whitetail...
So I'll make this quick. I've used some of the best glass Zeiss FL, Swaro EL, etc. for hunting over the years. The Swarovski NLs are THE BEST glass on the market. Yes, clarity and FOV is amazingly better than anything mid-grade, let alone cheaper glass. One under appreciated things about Swaro...
Not sure about eye cups, although I owned some EL 10x42s years ago. As far as optics are concerned, YES WITHOUT A DOUBT, the NLs are the BEST thing on the market IMO. They are incredible. The FOV is larger as you mentioned, but the depth of field is insane. Without needing to focus you will look...
Where/what are you hunting for? If you're out West glassing 500+ yards I can attest that the NLs are THE glass for finding game. I have the 12x42s and throw them on a tripod. I spot game (deer, coyote, rabbits, birds) at what seems like infinity, and sometimes MUCH further than I'm willing to...
Just finished a quick scouting trip in southern AZ for Coues. I have the 12x42 NLs and BTX w/95mm, so exactly what you're talking about. After that trip and much discussion with my hunting buddy I decided to sell my BTX (waiting to Post on Rokslide but need 10 posts). I understand why some think...
