Rifle range(s) and indoor archery range(s) (even better) are definite highlights for the hunting crowd.
The lack of public land is definitely not ideal and there isn't really much water around either.
The proximity to the front range can be a plus or a minus. You can find and do pretty much...
Good perspective.
In some professions, say law enforcement, you're bound to see a ton more of the "bad stuff" in any community. I'm sure that can really skew perspective unless you'd had a similar role in another community for a valid comparison.
OP;
I spent yesterday with a dying man. One of my closest childhood friends, in the last days of his life. For a couple of hours, it was just 4 of his friends, all men in their 40's who really know each other, being there for him. We cooked and cleaned, and did whatever needed to be done for...

Nobody has said that there aren't drugs or homeless. That's your own red herring.
I've lived for over a decade in one of your Wyoming "dream towns" with pine trees and mountains just out the back door. They have drug and homeless problems too, but it's all relative.
Cheyenne...
I guess I’m glad I don’t see Cheyenne through your eyes. I see way more of that type of stuff in FC and way more the closer I get to Denver.
…and I have been known to swing a rope pretty good but I’m far less experienced with dead cats.
I literally don’t see it, and I live and work near there every day. Sounds like you are describing a completely separate reality. Do you work/live in Cheyenne?
One of my lifetime favorite experiences was running across the Winds from Pinedale side at Big Sandy trailhead through the Cirque and on to Sinks Canyon above Lander. 50k, self supported (obviously) and it was so very cool.
I'm signed up for a 50 mile ultramarathon in May. It will be my first effort beyond 50k, which I did quite a while ago.
I've checked the Ironman box (relative disaster), sprint and olympic distance triathlon, and marathons (road and trail). Did a bit of CrossFit and really enjoyed competing...
I have an X. Really like it. Very stable and moves well. I will add an electric outboard this year for flat water. Handled class 2+ rapids very well.
The wind does push it around quite a bit.
I can load it on the top of my pickup with topper by myself, or haul it in the truck bed depending on...
I would not like to commute from Laramie to Cheyenne. I80 is closed at the summit very frequently throughout the winter. The drive on 25 to FC is much easier, so if I were you, I'd rule out Laramie, even though it's a pretty cool place.
Unless cost of living isn't a big concern for your...
The commute from FC to Cheyenne isn't bad. There are a couple of days that it's a "no go" but there haven't been that many in the last year. Driving across FC can seem to take as long as the I-25 trip to Cheyenne.
Cheyenne is much lower cost of living in every way, FC has more "town stuff"...
I don't feel any better, or worse. Not really any different at all, actually, and certainly no acute life altering benefits. A bit disappointing actually.
I'm certain it's overall healthier for me, even though there are no obvious changes in how I feel on a daily basis.
Will update blood...
