I need a quiet packable rain gear for an October Newfoundland back country moose hunt. The Sitka Thunderhead seems to have the best reviews for this type of hunt but I would appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks

That’s great to hear. We booked with them for a remote fly in in October 2024. Really looking forward to it. I talked to several hunters who have hunted with them. One for several years in a row. All were excellent reviews. Good luck. I’m anxious to hear about your experience.

Thanks. We signed up with Deep Country Lodge for a fly-in in October 2024. Got some really good feedback from guys who have hunted with them.

Thanks. That seems to be a very good round for big game. Plus it is currently available in 30wm, which is not the case for a lot of ammo.

Thanks. I’ll definitely try the 180’s on your list as well. Bonded or mono construction makes a lot of sense. I don’t reload at this point so I’ll be looking at only factory ammo for this hunt.

I am new to this forum. Looks great so far. I am planning a Newfoundland moose hunt with an x-bolt 300 win mag next year. I’m leaning toward using a Federal Premium Terminal Ascent 200g but I would appreciate any advice. Thanks
