Leica geovid hdb 3000 inconsistent ranging

Hey all, Wondering if I’m missing something with my binos, I’ve used them for rifle shooting/hunting with great results. This year I’m using them for archery, I seem to get several different readings, sometimes up to 3 yards different from the same spot on my foam targets…is this normal? I’m...

What release are you hunting with 2023

Just picked up a compound after a few years away. Silverback/nock 2 it combo for me. I shoot 95% of my shots with the silverback in practice and then will hunt with the nock 2 it. I agree with what others have said, it’s your execution that matters, the release itself is secondary.

    Bow hunting coastal Roosevelt elk.

Hey all, Curious to hear from people that have hunted Roosevelt elk with a bow. What worked in terms of tactics and any things you’ve learned about Rosie’s in general. I drew a great tag in an area with a big river and lots of flats in the valley surrounded by steep thick forest with some...

    Tent camping in bear country

Bear watch wildlife deterrent system is an option. I believe 3 lbs for the system, made here in BC. I keep a clean camp and try to camp away from travel corridors, other than that put some earplugs in and try not to overthink it.

    First Trip: Katabatic Quilt

Same boat here. Just returned from 12 days in northern BC. Took a 30’ flex quilt, temps got down to freezing at night, quilt was plenty warm. I never did use the attachment system, overall I’m very impressed with the quilt and will use again on my next sheep hunt.

    Which Sheep Caliber

Funny you would say that… I’m going on a DIY Dall hunt in Northern BC in less than a month. I’m on the fence between my Kimber Adirondack in 6,5 creedmoor and my Kimber Montana in 280 ai. No question the Adirondack is nicer to carry and easier to shoot in awkward field positions. It killed a...

Another goat bullet selection/shot placement thread

I shot my Billy at 150ish yards. The fact it was a 6.5 allowed me to put three shots in him in pretty quick succession, he was dead pretty shortly after. Honestly any of the accubonds you mention would work in my opinion. I normally woulda used my 280 ai but it had a broken firing pin, now I’m...

Another goat bullet selection/shot placement thread

I killed a goat last year with 140 accubonds out of a 18” barreled Adirondack in 6.5 creedmoor. Your .308 shooting accubonds will likely work great.
