$1000 spotting scope

What spotting scope would you all recommend ? Looked at the Kowa 502. Specifically want a straight one.

Watch EBay for a used Leica APO 62 with 16-48 eyepiece. A great little spotter. It’s been discontinued for a few years now. They can be found usually right under your price point.

This here. I have the 664 and I’d put it up against any mid size sub $2k spotter out there. Plus if you prefer the fixed power eyepiece the 30x wide angle is amazing.

I would buy a nearly new Swaro or Leica before buying a brand new other brand. If you do this you will only need 1 spotter in your lifetime and have the best spotter available! Take a look at Craigslist, Ebay, classified listings, etc. Cameraland or somewhere else may also have demos. If you can't find one for $1,000 save up or sell some of the stuff around your house....it's worth it's weight in gold to have the very best optics!

You can find the 20-60x85 Vortex Razor for as little as $850 new, good optics especially for the price, but it is bulky and weighs a bit over 4 pounds.

kowa 664 from cameraland ny- it will be more than $1k but not a pile more and its equivalent to swaro 65 or better. call doug he'll fix you up with a great deal. I just got a 55 series the other day.
