Hello and good day to all! Couldn’t write a book better than the morning my son experiences his first time out “chasing” Bugles. Hour or so into our hike into a remote location finally had a Bull respond. The hunt was on from there in the middle of the stock we walked upon a while in the ground my attention was still focused on the elk ahead trying to okay the wind and get in as close as possible. When out of the corner of my eye I noticed something coming out form the the whole in the ground and believe it or not wouldn’t you know a freakin mountain lion! Som and I were both in amazement I went for my pistol thought twice about it and decided not to shoot and scare off the elk. Well another 45 min or so and we call in a Bull to 15 yds. What a fantastic morning for my son God is GREAT!!!

Just fantastic and exactly why I have a lion tag when I elk hunt.

Best of luck to you both and keep us posted.

Which unit?

Eddie this was 11 Mike. Yes I always have a tag in my pocket and did when this occurred. I just chose not to shoot and blow the elk out of the country.
