I haven't found a real accurate load with the 110gr in my Ruger American 270 yet. The 85gr TSX and 95gr TTSX both shoot sub-MOA in my rifle, but the 110 groups open up. But I was mainly experimenting for deer and antelope. If I went to elk with the 270 I'd probably try the 127gr LRX.

I don't shoot a 270, but I use the TTSX or TSX in most of my hunting rifles and it's always perfomed well. I'd agree that for deer the 110 is fine, but if you're shooting anything bigger or at any kind of range beyond 300 yards I'd use the 129 LRX to keep more mass and speed down range. Close shots are no problem with the TTSX. If it's moving really really fast, the petals might shear off after it expands, but it won't blow up. It'll penetrate though and out the other side.

Every caliber rifle that I own, that I’ve shot either the Barnes TTSX or TSX out of (7mm-08, .300wsm, .375 h&h and .270win.), have all been exceptionally accurate with that bullet. Last year I killed a goat with the .270 and a 130 gr. TTSX bullet. I have never shot the 110’s but my rifle loves the 130’s, and I would rather have a little heavier bullet anyway. What is your reasoning for choosing the 110’s?

Just curious what people have had for experiences with them. I've had some folks ask me why I'm not using them. I'd try a box if the feed back was favorable. Sounds like the penetration on game is more than adequate. Even for its light weight.

I had some 110gr TTSX loaded up for my 270. My rifle didn’t like them for some reason but my dads m70 loved them, and they are laser flat. Sight them in an inch and a half high at 100yds and you basically don’t have to hold over at all out to 300-350yards. My dad killed two pigs with them and they both tipped over. Not sure why Barnes doesn’t offer them in a factory load but can assume it’s because many people still want to buy the same weight bullet in copper as they used to shoot in lead. If I handloaded I’d be all over the 110gr but I don’t so I’m sticking with factory loaded 130gr TTSX because they are easier to get and work just fine for the distances I shoot.

So, is anyone here liking the 110 grain TTSX in the 270 Win? Deer or bigger game? Close shots? Long shots?

That combo is popular down here, all TTSX’s seem to do better ran lighter thus faster. I ran 85’s in 243 and 257wby and had great results. As far as long that’s kind of needs to be defined but for the 243 and 257 about 300-350 is as far as I’d want to push them, I’m sure the 257wby you could push a lot further just better options for it. I’d probably limit my self to under 300 with 110/270
