I decided to give the gobblers a try this year for the 1st time . Being a wetside WA blacktail and roosie junkie never figured I would make the trip to the Eastside of the state to chase bird , but ended up having a blast . What a good way to break up the gap between the fall hunts, and these birds were alot more of a challenge than I would have imagined. I was able to fill both of my tags on 2 nice Merriam Tom's with 8" and 8 1/2" beards . A combination of calling and spot and stalk was what it took to get these gobblers on the ground. I am definitely looking forward too next spring to do this hunt again . We went 5 out of 6 for the group and all were very nice Tom's.
