What would you buy?
What do you think of the 12-45x60 leaupold spotter? Around $800 used hopefully-
Then binos?
Our how would you do it?

Can you stretch it at all?

You are probably pretty close to the following sale/demo/open box/used:
binoculars: Swarovski EL, Leica Noctivid, Swarovski SLC
spotter: Meopta Meostar S2

I think for the money that spotter cannot be beat. And binoculars those above can potentially be found. I do think for the next tier down, Nikon Monarch HG are very nice.

The best way is to go look through all of the stuff if possible. If you keep going up from model to model you will notice differences but not as dramatic as going back down from the top.

I have been eyeing Meopta. I do not own a spotter, and have been debating on one or some 15x binos.

At 3k you can get both, but you will have to sacrifice on one a lil. Kinda

I honestly had to sale my stuff for divorce attorneys. They were being updated anyway and I was not hunting for myself anymore.
My set up before was Leica trinovid 10x50 with the leaupold 12-45x60 spotter.
I would feel confident with that set up on any hunt!

Depends on your use . What kind of hunting are you doing . Archery or rifle and what areas will you be using optics most in. Then I can give some suggestions .

First….

Buy used Swaro 10x42 Range EL. Last pair I saw sell for $2000, 10 days ago

Then a spotter, if needing to field judge.

Do not pass up the bargain of Meopta. I have the 15 x 56s and the 8 x 42s and both (in HD) are great optics.
Kowa TSN 554 as a spotter. One of the moderators did a review on them a while back. They are an awesome little package. Pretty well pushes the real need for an 80 out for most people in most situations.

If you catch some sales, getting both in that $3,000 range is doable, barely.

On a similar thread Doug from Cameraland suggested the new Kowa binos. Given the normal quality of Kowa and the spotter I have, I'm sure they are contenders.

the best bang for your buck by far is maven and meopta. they arent quite on the same level as the top tier glass, but they are dang close.
