Thanks! This picture makes him look a little better than he is. It was a fun hunt anyways. I had one found Saturday afternoon that was probably a bit bigger. It was so windy I couldn't study him very well thru the spotter. I worked my way closer but couldn't turn him up again. This buck jumped out Sunday mid morning and I decided I better take him.

Was lucky to glass this buck up before a storm blew in, he was about 2400 yards away, the ridge closest to him was 1850ish, I knew if I could get there before the storm I'd have a sub 500 yard shot. Well we get over to the ridge right as the storm hit and couldn't see much past 100 yards. Decided I didnt want him to sneak away so figured we'd go still hunt where he bedded. Luckily I spotted him bedded before he spotted me at about 60 yards

Here's my miracle buck. I literally had only two evenings after work available to hunt deer this year. Between family and work obligations I just didn't have the time I felt I needed to hang my tag on a buck. The second evening as I was hiking I was kicking myself for choosing the route I had chosen as it was only going to give me about 25 minutes of glassing time before dark. Then I spotted this guy feeding up the ridge on my way to my glassing point. 217 yards with the 6.5 creed and the rest is history. I still can't believe I killed a buck with about 3 hrs. of total hunting time.

Here's my first muley. I've been nothing short of obsessed with mule deer since the first time I hunted them four years ago. Across three different states over four years I was never able to pull it off until finally came together (per usual) the last 10 minutes of the last day, on my fourth year. This was exceptionally special because my girlfriend was there with me the whole time, and this was her first public-land hunt ever.
