2019 Caribou Meat Pole

Just got back from a few days on the North Slope hunting Caribou with my wife and two friends. Lot's of caribou, just not many big bulls or any decent ones for that matter. The theme of our weekend was "Pecker Checkin"... Thousands of cows/calfs, never saw a mosquito and plenty of people but we ended up doing well for the short time we had.

Let's see those Caribou! Even if they are small like mine

I think we beat you Nick... in both being first on the board for 2019 and dinkiest antler size. They haven't grown out much in April!

Great thing about Caribou... lots of opportunities, and we had fun this spring.

Yes that's a bull. And yes those are 4" antlers.

The pack out was kind of longish though.

Congrats! We fly out saturday for our first crack at caribou as well. The pecker checker comment made me laugh. i am a bit nervous about only being able to shoot a bull so was glad to hear they are fairly visible.

Congrats!! I’m headed up to the Haul road soon with one of my best friends from the Army who’s out now. Only get to hunt for about 6 days this year

6 days should be plenty! I can't remember a time being up there and not at least having a stalk, most trips even weekend turn and burns amount into something dying. I hope you see some and get some opportunities. Best of luck!
