wow, the otc unit next to my family went up 200 people last two seasons......................400 extra people during archery since 2018. guess 600 extra by this season. This is what happens when everyone can just look at harvest stats. I may look for a different unit. Almost same effect as someone posting what unit and location they killed a big bull in the year before...............guess what........there will be some extras there next season. Grrrr. lol

I hunt in Unit 13, 334 bulls killed and 521 cows, are the numbers switched? If not, way too many cows are being killed.

Does anyone know why the information is different in the two categories "2019 Elk Harvest, Hunters and Recreation Days for First Rifle Seasons" and "2019 Elk Harvest, Hunters and Percent Success for First Rifle Seasons?"

For example, unit 15 says there were 0 bulls killed in the "2019 Elk Harvest, Hunters and Percent Success for First Rifle Seasons" category, but says there were 48 bulls killed in the "2019 Elk Harvest, Hunters and Recreation Days for First Rifle Seasons" category. I've seen this for a number of units and it has never made any sense to me.

I didn’t look at that tag specifically but that difference could happen if the bulls were taken on either sex tags and there were no bull only tags

Bumping for some more info on this question. There is a substantial difference in the numbers I looked at.

Does Colorado do mandatory harvest reporting? I thought they were just guessing

I hunted unit 45, second season, rifle. This was my 1st Colorado trip. I hunted hard, it was pretty tough and I came back empty handed...
I stayed at camp hale and hiked my ass off. It’s definitely pretty country but did not see a single elk, cow or bull. The trip started off with great weather but then 4 days in to my trip (opening day) the snow dumped, and dumped. My tent got buried and pretty soon I was hiking in knee deep snow with sub zero temps.
Still not having seen a single elk, and with more snow in the forecast, I decided to cut the trip short.
It was a long drive home to Florida with lots of time to think. I arrived 1.5 days later pretty frustrated and deflated.
Is there anyone on here that had luck in 45? I’m not looking for details or honey holes. Just still licking my wounds....

see my earlier post. At least for the tag mentioned it’s because the 1st season tag the bulls were harvested on is an either sex tag. The percent success data is only for sex-specific tags
