Father son hunt to Montana. My dad struggles to get around so I was thrilled when I found this buck bedded in a location that I thought I had a reasonable chance to get my dad on. He made the shot at a little over 200 yards. Then it became my responsibility to climb down into this bowl and gut, tag & drag. Hearing my dad brag to the ranchers how he never would have gotten this buck without my help made all the sore legs and back worth it. Few of us get to repay the debt to those who got us into hunting. I'm on the installment plan.

My first white tail buck, Southern Illinois. Got into archery last year and put in a lot of reps this year. It paid off when he tried to run off on me and I took what I'd call a "snap shot" with a rifle. Just saw the pin and let it fly. I thought the arrow had missed and just spooked him... then he tipped over. 135 6/8's
This the mule deer thread. Nice buck though.
