I think I want to get in on the Murph action. Did you know we can't even use "Murph" anymore since they copyrighted it? They sent a cease and desist letter to gyms last year so we had to change the name to bodyarmor.

My fat a$$ needs to get back into shape. I let life get in the way and got into the habit of making excuses with my body's condition and my lack of time. Just filled some old GORUCK sandbags I 'earned' years ago.

I plan on doing my monthly Murph this Saturday. I didn't know gyms had to stop using that name, interesting. I've been doing a few more squats than normal this month so hopefully I wont be quite as sore this time around.

I think I could maybe handle a mini Murph haha. My PU capacity has to be near zero. I'm in though. Whatever bi get done in an hour will be my plan. I've been sub 45 with a vest but that was a different me.

You guys are awesome.

Down to 197 maintaining a keto diet. Still eating a ton of calls.

Walking and running hills 3-4 times a week. Walk with weight and I run without weight. Continue to target 75 floors each time I am out.

Think I will easily be in 180 range by the fall.

said I would get a Murph in this month and today was the day. well this home gym stuff has finally paid off for something :)

Murph
1 mile run
300 air squats
200 pushups
100 pullups
1 mile run

43:30 that's roughly a 7 minute improvement over the last time I did it; runs were right at 9 minutes which is slow but helps me finish (and I'm not a fast runner anyways), broke everything into 20 sets (15/10/5)- took a minute rest/water break at the halfway point and again at the 3/4 mark

Pretty impressed. I plan on doing it this weekend but will fall well short of that. Good job.

thanks!; for the last month I've been doing a bunch of bodyweight stuff (as my gym has been closed) including several "half" Murph's, so it appears it's paid off- of course when my gym opens (and who knows when) I probably won't be able to deadlift my body weight :D

There are some impressive goals here. Very motivating for me to get up and move around more during this extended time we have been given.

another month down; 150 miles for the month w/ more than 50 of those on snowshoes- a good month :)

605 miles for the year

all of my strength training has been bodyweight stuff due to gyms still closed, the upside was I had the best Murph that I've done (posted up above this)

highlight of the month was a 3 day/2 night snowshoe trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness

Hopefully doing the bob cook memorial ride in July if it doesn’t get canceled. Historically always mtn bike, but this seems awesome, so starting to get some road miles in. Did a marathon and 1/2 marathon last year, this might be harder. Not easy getting old.

April Update:

Trail Running Miles: 401
Hiking Miles: 50
Mtn. Biking Miles: 49
Total Miles: 500 of 1,400 goal
Total Elevation Gain: 64,000 of 175,000 goal

This month felt fairly easy, likely because I'm doing a bit more mountain biking with my kids, which is fun, but those miles are much easier than when I ride alone and push the pace. I'm on target to reach my goals for the year and feeling pretty good. I need to get in a few more hiking miles in May as I kinda slacked off there and got most of my miles from running or biking in April. I'll get in a Murph tomorrow and report back.

May 1st Murph!!
41:52 no vest.

This time I broke it up into 5/10/20 for first 15 rounds to have a break from air squats before the 2nd mile. Not sure if it helped, the last mile was still pretty painful mentally & physically...

Today's Murph, same format as I've been doing. Unweighted 1 mile run, 20 sets of 15 squats, 10 pushups, and 5 pullups, then run another mile. My mile times averaged about an 8 minute mile pace together but the second one was slower for sure.

Time: 33:58

I feel like puking today but my legs feel pretty good so far, we'll see how sore I get over the next few days.

Well I had an excellent May boosted by my 6th Bob Marshall Wilderness Open (100 miles) for a total of 214, probably 60 of those on snowshoes; 819 for the year which at his juncture puts me on track for 2020 trail miles :)

Got one Murph in mid month, one my best times- no doubt in part as all I've doing all month is bodyweight exercises.

My gym opened last week, so I'll be back to my Wendler program, just a lot further back than two months ago.
