Headed down to Wyoming with my pops for our second goat hunt. Had some help from guys on this forum that really was appreciated! Dad got antsy and took a meat buck he was happy with at 310yds and I took my second and best antelope. Eating the heart tonight!

My 15 y/o connected on this buck yesterday, opening day in Idaho. The day prior, I spotted him and was able to the call the landowner who was willing to let us hunt. That morning he showed up in the absolutely most perfect place he could be… we had cover and my son was able to take his time and drop him. In the past 5 years of watching Antelope in this unit, he is the biggest one we have ever laid eyes on. Proud dad here!!

It’s always exciting to see youngsters with smiles behind critters they’ve successfully harvested. Congrats to the successful kids above!!!

I got back a few days ago from my first WY antelope trip with 3 other guys. 4 tags between us and we all managed to tag out. I took mine with a 301 yard shot with a 6.5 Creedmoor 143 gr ELD-X and it dropped in it's tracks. I'll keep the trophy pics to myself since it was just a doe, but here's the first meal (it's a Japanese curry) I made out of some of it's front shoulder. Pronghorn Curry.jpg

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not. (And I'm sure I'm jinxing myself!) I'm headed out to Wyoming with my dad for the second weekend. This will be his 4th antelope hunt but my first. In the event the stars align for me, does anyone have experience with taxidermists in the Gillette area? I'd love to have one of these critters on the wall if I shoot a decent representative of the species. I think it makes sense to have someone with experience with antelope do the work plus avoid any CWD stateline crossing BS. Anyone have a trusted taxidermist in that area? Or advice on who to avoid? (If that latter, maybe just shoot me a PM.)
Thanks!

Hey everyone, how about sharing pics of your successful 2021 antelope hunts. I will start it off with pics of my Wyoming buck that View attachment 319067View attachment 319068I shot on August 16th. I passed on 8 other bucks from two different blinds. My shot was 16 yards and he was rough scored at 77". Dan's in Casper did a nice job with the meat.
Nicely done. Im really hoping to be able to go on a speed goat hunt next year
