Here is a cool double that came in on different sides. I was trying to get the first dog to stop before it got to close but no go. It could see/smell the other dog and when they met up they fought for 30 seconds. As soon as they split apart I dropped the winner hoping the loser was young/dumb. It worked because the loser ran 40 yards then stopped to see what was up with the winner laying on its back. It came back on a trot and when it got close it took off again. It only went another 25 yards or so when I dropped it.

It’s depressing looking at all the pics, wishing we could have sealed the deal last night lol. We had 3 virgin spots but the moon was just too much. 12:00 am with no camera flash

It is way different with the moon. I have a hard time when its bright. On a bright night I feel lucky to get one.
Dirty tough what optic are you running?
I have a Bering Phenom scanner, Trijicon Mk3 60mm on my rifle, and a Super Hogster on my boys rifle. I used a Hogster R35 to scan with for awhile. I was going to put it on my boys rifle but with that extra bit of native mag the Super has I figured that was a better weapon sight for where we hunt. Going from the 384 R35 to the 640 Phenom was really nice.

After spending a decent amount of time with them I feel its way more important to have a clear scanner than weapon sight. Most of the time I'm scanning, not on the rifle. Main thing for the weapon sight is that it holds zero.

6Creed at 150 yards hammers em.
Nice, what bullet are you using?

I've shot them with a 108 eldm and a 88 gr berger varmint. Both surprisingly didn't blow huge holes but like you said puts them down hard

95gr Berger Classic hunters. Bought a case last summer, haven't even setup my dies yet cause they factory berger ammo shoots so well.

attached photo is the exit wound on my deer last fall, 535 yards.

What are your thoughts on the phenom vs super as far as picture goes. A guy that hunts with us has been looking at different options

Two completely different units. The Phenom is a scanner, the Super a weapon sight. The picture is better on the Phenom. If buying a unit for scanning definitely the Phenom. The Super has a good picture. But the FOV is to small for my liking as a scanner and obviously a 640 is more clear than a 384.

I am actually thinking of selling the Trij and buying another Super and Phenom. I think its one of the best least expensive combo's out there for the hunting I do.

I know a lot of people buy the 35 to use as a scanner. My buddy was thinking of doing the same with the super, but weighing his options. We don’t really hunt any tight area is I don’t see that being a problem for him. I know the 640 is better but curious if it blows it out of the water or just marginally better

I hunt pretty open areas (North Dakota) and originally I used the R 35 as a scanner also. I thought the FOV was a little tight on it. The Super is even tighter.

I haven't used the Super much. Next time I'm out on a low humidity night I'll take a few pics with the Phenom and Super. I think the Super is probably plenty clear for most people. Just like mid range bino's are fine for 95% of hunting.

I was out with a buddy the other night and I spotted a dog fairly close in the 150 yard range. He has the Super on his rifle and it took him awhile to locate it. I assume a bigger FOV would have helped some.

Had a triple come in and two decided to follow me home.

Had a double come in on the next stand. It was cool because I had only played about 3 seconds when I saw them coming fast. I silenced the caller and shot the first one. I got the second one to stop and hit it. It got up and took off. I shot again and that was a miss. It laid down again and I tried stalking it but it got up again and took off. I came in from the other side to cut it off but never found it. First dog I’ve lost this season. They’ve either been dropped or missed.

Dang I shot another today and forgot to take pictures. Around 250 yards on the run and rolled him! Zero skill involved just pure luck on that one. Hit him right in the ass but he didn't go far. Still had to finish him off. That little 204 ruger is impressive really. Makes 20 in the barn for the year 20210124_145651.jpg

I’ve been hiking around with this guy keeping tabs on some bucks before they shed. Those damn coyotes get so focused on my dog that they forget there’s a human with him! He’s my decoy, he just doesn’t know it! Lol! side note, the ol 7mag makes a pretty big hole!
