I’m currently laid up after a shoulder and bicep surgery so I’ll be getting a late start on my 2021 goals.

- Run 100 miles: I despise running so this will be tough for me lol
-Walk 200 miles: I usually walk at least a mile after each morning workout so this should be easy to hit
-Get back to my pre surgery strength
-Take a mature bull

That is the free app with the garmin instinct, gives you about everything you need for training and the map programs is nice to see lines hiked in the backcountry🤙 The sheds top off the trophy room nicely for $150 the instinct is nice for basic stuff there is a good write up on it by Jordan

Thanks. I actually came across another post of yours after I posted this and saw you had that watch. As of right now, I'm not really active enough to justify it but I am intrigued. I've only ever tracked miles on my phone either while walking/ hiking/ running but these seems more convenient.

I'd like to lose another 10-15lbs by spring. In addition, last year I got to a point where I could do 5 days without quitting or lingering soreness. I was however very slow going up the hills. I'd like to improve my ability to go up hills with a pack.

2021 fitness goals:

1. Lose at least 37lbs (started the year at 262 and it's just not good)

2. Minimum 150 min of vigorous exercise per week

3. Cut out excess carbs/sugars and all pop.

Basically looking to instill good habits and get rid of bad ones permanently. This year the hunts I'm looking at will be less intense so I will be doing it "for me" and not gearing up for something just to slack off after the Hunt is over.

Get the diet in check and lose 20lbs.

Just get stronger overall. I really saw my fitness increase last year as I started scouting for my 1st season hunting Southern California. I already hike several times a week at elevation, have a leg up since I live at 5600 feet and have access to 7K easily out my back door. Overall pretty happy with where I am but want to hike with more weight in my pack to further increase my leg strength and fitness.

Hit a 700 pound deadlift, 600 pound squat, 400 pound bench. . Get to a 55 min 10k pace for sheep season. Pack my stone ram out in a single load

A 25lb cut + lockdown killed my lifts earlier this year, but did eventually get back to where I was at a lower body weight.

This year.
Finish putting on weight then a slow cut of about 10-15lbs. I think 160-165 is where I ultimately want to end.
315 deadlift
275 squat
225 bench
18 pull ups
80 push ups
10 mile run fully
3 mi/21 minutes

well my January shaped up pretty nicely :)

was consistent with my strength training twice a week; got 131 miles and 31,300' of gain which puts me in pretty good shape for my goals

got three good snowshoe trips in January too- 2 peaks bagged and a off trail trip into a frozen waterfall

we'll see what February brings

Nice job @mtwarden!

For the first half of the month I was having a great month for both mileage and elevation gain, especially considering the winter conditions. Then I threw my back out working around the house and still haven't fully recovered. I had to take the last week and a half off but I'm hoping to start hiking a bit more this week. Running may have to wait another week beyond that. I'll have to make up the lost miles and elevation later, I'm just glad I'm feeling good enough to start hiking a bit again though I'm still a fairly stiff.

Trail running miles: 91
Hiking Miles: 20
Mtn. Biking Miles: 0
Total Trail Miles: 111 of 1,500 goal
Total Elevation Gain: 17,000 of 225,000 goal

Great work and great photos, MT Warden. Things went ok for me. 118 miles, 8,500ish elevation gain, 4 summits. A bit behind on those, but that’s expected. Muddy trails and lots of work, volume will increase as the spring opens up.

Push-ups and pull-ups every day, lifted twice a week each week.

Each season has a new routine, and I’m settling on with mine for now.

I have a bit of a twinge on the left knee that has stuck around a bit, I’m thinking an mcl or meniscus tweak. It’s not bad and and hasn’t made me miss a day, but im trying to keep volume down until it goes away. Fingers crossed.

math was never my forte :). it's 153 miles, didn't add my snowshoe miles in (and honestly I could triple those miles for snowshoeing they are that much harder!)- WOOOOT!
