Aug 10th was the ptarmigan opener in AK. It was a good one.

On the way to another limit of stupid blue grouse this evening. Never let an errant feather get in the way of a good drink….

I'm up 20 grouse for the year and haven't fired a single primer. Every one has been arrowed.....ground sluiced, but I feel like I deserve a pass.

Got 2 Sage grouse this weekend. Tired the pup out too.

17 birds in this hunt. Our other group put up 5 and a band, I jumped 4 later in the day, putting up 26 birds in one day. A good end to PA’s early season

It was a zoo out there today. I left one state forest because it was so busy and headed to another. Same thing. I stopped at a new cover I scouted this year and doubled up at the tail end of the walk. Took my 2 birds and went home. Sure feels like the woods have gotten more crowded lately…
