That has been my experience with steel on ducks. Been buying Hevi Shot a little at a time
and looking to get some Bismuth. These Boss loads look to be an option when they are
available.

Cali needs more migrants, even the ducks wont come here.
Sweat line at the refuge today. Managed 1 , not much out there today.

Spent the afternoon in our Upper Delta yesterday, saw ONE Wood Duck.
Rode over to the Lower Delta this afternoon, plenty of Coots. Possibly some
Gadwall but nothing too impressive yet.
Fishing tomorrow.

Had a good shoot today. Tides were no good early and late so I headed out mid morning and set up in my layout canoe as the tide came in.

Was amazing. Birds decoying right in in for nice close shots. Ended up with 4 pintail, 2 mallards, 1 spooner and 1 teal

Yesterday was my first time using them. We are eating the birds tonight, but when I cleaned them yesterday I didn't find anything. These were teal and were very close for what it's worth, prob 15-20 yd shots. I will say, my buddy next to me was using a 12 ga with regular steel, #2. His birds would kind of sail after hitting them, mine would drop like a rock. So far Im impressed....I didn't get any shots at some of the larger ducks we saw. Would like to see how it does on those......
My experience is similar. Significantly less follow up shots needed with bismuth. Boss shells are good been using them since they came out and used to be better price than other bismuth but now they are more expensive. I have two cases left and will prob start with heavy shot bismuth or Kent bismuth. I really liked the Kent but switched to boss when I heard about them and they were cheaper.

Anybody got any word on ducks in W. Tennessee? Going up there for a late January hunt.
I hope better than ne Louisiana. Just saw a survey that reported an 86%decrease in the 5 year average counted in the survey. They wanted to compare to last year as it was dry also but an equipment malfunction resulted in no count being recorded. We had a paultry opener and I was headed back yesterday but got a call from guys that had been hunting since the day after thanksgiving and said they were headed home due to so little ducks around.
