Thanks I grabbed a couple of pounds. It has been a pretty rare powder. I don’t know if it is better than TAC but I will run a future comparison for my rifles.

Long enough for guys I load for to get some so they don’t have to scavenge off me. Now we need some 77tmk in stock
They’re out there, I snagged 300 more last weekend while in Utah. Surprisingly the store didn’t have a limit and had 6 boxes on the shelf.

I am about 70 rounds into this load development with not much to show for it. I did a powder test and found a decent area with Low ES and SD but best groups were 1.5 MOA. I’m now doing a ladder test with seating depth. I bought a metal ASC to gain a bit more COAL up to 2.315. I’m going to now increase OAL in .006” increments from 2.260 out to 2.315 and hopefully something works. I’ve never had a load give me so much trouble. 223 wylde 20” 1/8 twist 77 tmk and ram shot Tac. I’m not giving up yet because dang I really want these to work! Just need a sub moa group consistently and I’ll be happy.

Velocity by the way has been 2840 fps. Screaming

What rifle? What twist on the barrel, and what barrel length?

A 20” 223 wylde chamber with a 1/8 twist. AR15. I guess my next step is to increase seating depth out to 2.310 with new metal ASC mags and see if anything improves

Ive never been abke to get the TMKs to shoot as well as the SMKs out of my ARs. 77 SMK over 23.4 of 8208 or 24.5 of TAC is money in most ARs ive shot and competed against.

I was not able to either. I put a new BA 16 inch fluted barrel in 223wylde on it and voila. 24.1g 8208 and 77 TMK at standard length. Regularly can get right at .75 in my gas gun. Now I will work on decreasing the length a bit. 1/8 twist

I pretty much gave my brother in law my AR, but with 77gr smk’s, it was the most accurate rifle I have owned… it was fairly picky, but those smk’s shot crazy well… I plan to load him up some tmk’s soon, and I hope they shoot well, but I have heard the same thing you mentioned out of gas guns

Found and bought the only loaded .223 Rem 77tmk I’ve ever seen. Just need a .223 Tikka and a 10x SWFA and I’ll have the Rokslide special. Bought 5 boxes, they had quite a few left. Anyone have experience with these?

Anyone using the 68 grain Hornady BTHP for whitetails? I know the 75 is inconsistent in expansion or terminal performance, but with the larger cavity behind the hollow point is the 68 more reliable? I know TMK's are the darling here but they are currently equal or at one shop passing in price of the Nosler Partitions up here if you can even find either in stock here in Canada.
I have enough of my preferred hunting options on hand to last me a few hunting seasons but the on going component shortage up here has me looking at the options that have remained affordable and available.

Fellas, I’m here for the autopsy/post hunt results… surely, someone has some to share? Trying to live vicariously through you gents… and will be for a while. I think .224 Valk should get an honorable inclusion in this thread as well ;-).

Any .22 centerfire, for that matter. I'd be real curious to see what a 77gr TMK would do out of something like a .22 creedmoor...

It’s been mentioned pages back. I believe over a certain velocity they become very explosive.

At a meager 2750 muzzle velocity and down to 2k impact velocity, from my experience they expand immediately, very evident when cutting the animal open. It’s an impressive bullet.

60tmk at 3k out the muzzle rip predators in half.

Accurate but very slow like 2530 out of a 23" tikka that shoots the tmk/8208 at 2800.
