Remington 600 and Winchester 88 both shoot a Sierra 100gr with imr 4895. Technically better powders for that bullet weight but neither gun complains, nor do the deer.

These loads have worked in 2 different Ruger Americans and 2 different 700 Remingtons.

42 grains RL 19
100 grain interlock, 100 grain partition, or 95 grain ballistic tip, your choice.

47 grains h1000
100 grain interlock

41 grains IMR 4350
100 grain partition

Primers didn’t seem to matter much.

This is about what I'm loading

40-41 gr IMR4350 or Win 760 w 100 gr bullet (pro hunter, partition)
Velocity in Rem 770 is 2850-2950 fps depending on bullet

Gonna try 100 gr interlocks pretty soon and will start with 39-39.5-40-40.5 gr, see how it shoots.

I got my biggest whitetail with a 243 and 80gr ttsx over varget. My father's I'm loading partitions over h4350. I shot several deer out to 300 yards with both loads from my 243 and none ever needed a second shot.

100gr Sierra btsp or 100gr Hornady interlock btsp over IMR4831. Has worked well for several whitetails. Shots were all under 100yds, no blood trailing required.

95 grain Ballistic Tip and IMR 4350 for us. Before I reloaded we killed a bunch of stuff with Hornady 100 grain American Whitetail.

That was Ken Water’s pet hunting load if any of you remember his pet loads reloading books. I could never get the accuracy I wanted with 4831, so I mostly stayed with 4350 and 4895 (at the expense of a little velocity).

760 is another good powder for a 243.

I’m a fan of the .243, i have a savage 110 that is extremely accurate with factory 95gr SST’s. It’ll shoot 1.5” groups at 200 yards. You just got to remember that it’s a very fast, small bullet and to keep it off the shoulder. I had a permit hunt this past weekend here in Arkansas and shot a roughly 200lb hog at 40 yards, and a buck at 150 yards and both shots resulted in a quick death. The hog ran a circle before falling from a liver shot (thought it was quartering away). The buck was a perfect double lung. He made a 50 yard death run. I’ve found this set puts a hurting on the critters, I’d have no hesitation shooting it at a mule deer.
