I recently acquired a ruger 77 tang safety heavy barrel 25-06. Beautiful rifle. Finally found a decent load using rl22 and 110 eldx. I have some 100 gr NBT I’d like to load up. Powder on hand is both h/imr 4831 and rl22. Which powder would you start with?

Thanks guys. I’ll give it a try once deer season is over.

I used 100 Barnes TTSX this fall on antelope with RL 19. I've also used H4831SC with good success and H4350 in different weights of bullets.

I’m shooting the nosler blue tips out of mine and with a 24” barrel I’m getting 3380 with either IMR 4831 or H4831, I can’t remember at the moment. One was more accurate and I went with it but it’s been a while since I got to shoot. I’m not sure if I like the bullets after two kills with them tho so I’ll be looking somewhere else eventually I think.

For guys looking for a good 100 grain bullet for a 25-06 I have had really good results from the Swift Sirocco 2. It opens fast for shock on coyotes but retains weight and exits on deer. Nothing I have shot with one had gone far and meat damage is less than a more explosive bullet if a bone is hit.

I have had really good luck with RL22 on everything from the 117gr sierra GK to the 110 accubond.

I have 67 of these to try as well. They’re just too dang expensive to experiment much with. Hope to find a load with the nbt that lol also work with them.

I used IMR4350 with 120 gr. Partitions in the 25-06 with good results. The 110 gr. Accubond would be an excellent bullet to try as well. I sure like the Accubonds and of course Partitions will never fail you!!

4831 has given me the best results with Sierra 117 Game Kings and 115 Nosler Ballistic Tips. 25-06 is a death ray.
